-1 The stigma for CrossFit with bodybuilders

ad

This topic came to me from another forum post. Thought this would be an interesting subject. Why is it hated? What do CrossFitters think of meathead body builders? Which one is better for functional strength? Are there any top notch CrossFitters that don’t start in bodybuilding first? Do you see people at the gym that look like they never exercised a day in there life going nuts in the gym ? I’d like to hear from cross fitters and body builders? Let’s have an insightful dialogue!!

I love crossfit. Laughter is good for soul and I laugh alot when I see someone doing kips or any of those other so called crossfit exercises.

Who actually hates crossfit, it’s inspired thousands of people to get into shape and lead a healthier lifestyle.

Prince Andrew, now there is a good person to hate.

I will say I worked out at a gym which had a CrossFit lad working out there and he would regularly use the only squat rack to do those exercises which look like they belong in a 5 year olds birthday party game. He was a wanker and you get just as many of those is BB or PL which I proved when I had a not so polite chat with him the 2/3 time he decided to do 15 minutes of jumping jacks in the squat rack.

When I was benching a ton of weight I sometimes thought there is nothing that I can use this for unless I start sumo wrestling

Offensive lineman! Maybe a bouncer.

A bouncer like Tigger? or a Bumble?

I myself do not hate crossfit as a genre. Moreso I dislike crossfit guy. Everyone knows this guy the one who tells you how great crossfit is and how it's better than anything. Also the costs associated with it. Most boxes I've looked at cost $150-200 a month and only offer classes and workouts on a schedule.

I had to look up what a CrossFit box is. I know not everyone can’t be a master carpenter but you got to be pretty sad if you can’t cut squares and rectangles out of plywood and screw them together. Shit Home Depot will cut it for you

Also the costs associated with it.

Get a job on a ranch bailing hay, planting fence posts and stringing wire... They pay you to do cross fit.

Score one for CrossFit for functional strength

I am guy that has been going to the gym and working out, not for Bodybuilding, just to stay in shape and have muscle tone. But the Bodybuilding guys taught me a lot about how to train,, always veryilling to help if I just ask them. Then I got into crossfit, and it totally changed my physique and and athletic ability. Sprinting spead dramatically increased, and able to hit the ball (softball) further. Definitely helps in functional strength. I still have a lot respect for my Bodybuilding buddies. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to training and diet.
