post workout cold bath
So last week I did deadlifts to start my back workout had good form and posted good weight. It had been awhile since I did deadlifts but needless to say I posted 420 for 5 reps..but that time off left me sore as hell I mean soreeeee!!! I was so stiff the next day I had to wear croc's to work because of my fear of a shoe lace coming undone..so the next three days I was so uncomfortable during sleep and working out. So I did alittle research to find ways to heal faster, I came across the cold therapy method which is a ice cold bath after a hard workout. So this monday was back day and I started off with deadlifts and same form weight went up alittle higher 425 (lol 2 1/2 pound plates ) so immediately after deadsy back was so still I could barely finish my workout (also fyi if you have a stiff back doing bent over rows with your butt against the wall really helps) so I went home and filled my bath tub with cold water around 44 degree's sucked it up and went in. I sat inside for 6 min and then proceeded with a warm shower. So today I feel a lot better im able to move, workout, sleep etc etc..so I highly recommend the cold therapy after a hard workout..heres alittle article I found on the subject. http://sportsmedicine.about.com/od/sampleworkouts/a/Ice-Bath.htm
