Nautilus Freedom Rack
ad
Does anyone have any experience with this rack? Closest thing I can compare it to is a “jones” machine . Didn’t even know that was a thing until I started looking into this topic. My apartment complex recently put a gym in and it has one of these racks and unfortunately it’s what makes up for most the equipment. It shows full body exercise outlines but I’d like to find an actual routine or maybe some website that shows exercises that can be done and proper form.

bgukxllsI've seen and used them in some gyms. They're interesting.. kinda helps you on certain exercises since it has a bit of a Smith machine type situation going on, but unlike a smiths machine, there are 2 tracks, one that moves forward and back, and one that moves up and down like a smith machine... Thus giving you "Freedom" in your workouts, but still assisting.. You can do squats, lunges, deadlifts, bench press, military/OHP, pull ups, chin ups, you name it. Plus you can rack the bar on either side, which is also cool.
Now, I don't like messing with "assisted" machines.. But, since the freedom rack has multiple rails that go up and down but also front and back, it feels like using free weight... but still helps when you're really trying to push your limits in terms of strength for example as it adds stability and helps you balance the weight. And if you're doing some massive weight and going for that 1RM / PR, its nice to be able to rack it on either side since theres dual racks.
Routines would be the same as any other workout routine honestly.. Form would be based on the basics of what's healthy for human anatomy in terms of weight and movement.. I didn't notice any difference in my form when using using the Freedom Rack but it does have a different feel to it.
I’m glad I thought to ask this here. Thanks for all your info. I’d taken note that you can do a wide variety of exercises but was curious as to how it felt and you definitely answered the question. They’re opening it up for use soon so I’ll get some first hand knowledge soon enough. They’ve got it, let ext, pull down and row, a set of cables, elliptical, treadmill, bike, rowing machine, the monkey bars and body weight stuff, plus a “sparring” type machine with tap pads and a big screen for cardio and combinations. Oh and some stairs. I was mad as hell for a few months knowing our rent would eventually go up and I’d be stuck looking at some treadmills and a bike or something. It may not be a Golds but it’s enough to get the job done when convenience is needed so I’m pretty stoked about it now. Thanks again for the reply.
bgukxllsHey that sounds like an amazing gym for an apartment complex standards... Have fun!
