Joints
How the shit do you people on halo or Anadrol even do it? I’m just on var and already my strength is too much for my joints.
It’s so hard not to push myself past my joint limit. Strength is just exploding every workout day I feel I can move up in weight, but I’ve finally reached the point where my joints can’t keep up.
Last time I ran var it was the same way, but now I’m just too strong. It’s insane. I sincerely don’t see how people on compounds which give even higher strength gains can even handle it on their joints.
Knees and elbows are my biggest limiting factors. Luckily my shoulders seem to be holding strong.
I’m trying to just keep the weight low enough to keep my body safe, but fuck man it’s hard when I feel like I have the strength capacity to move up.
Mostly just a rant. I know the thing to do I just hate wasting the potential. Seriously though I have a newfound respect for those of you who use those crazy strength compounds.

Joint damage isn’t my worry about massive strength increases from gear, it’s the muscle/tendon/bone junctions that scare me. All those damn Larry wheels videos of guests ripping shit. So instead of pushing the weight in total poundage, I’ll just keep cranking out rep PRs. Hit something I usually do for 6-8 but for 10-12. Still gets you stronger, still builds muscle, and lowers the probability of injury. But I’m clearly injury prone so I have reason to worry. Sitting here now with what is likely a significant hammy tendon rupture….from basketball though not lifting.
Are you getting joint pains? Are your joints dry due to low estrogen? Folks don't realize the importance of water and overall lubrication of the joints when you're moving heavy ass weights. Unlike muscle, tendons have piss poor blood circulation so healing time is
definitely a factor. What type of workouts are you doing? For power? Growth? Probably don't need to lift very heavy if you're just trying to grow. Just depends on your goals.
Im only 35 so ive not yet had joint issues but am certain my day will come. Glucosamine, fish oils, and warm up joints prior to lifts has been good for me
35? Aging backwards huh lol
Maybe add some bpc157 and tb500 to the mix? Or back off from 40mg a day of var...
anvilIDK my joints mostly hurt because I am old now, but when something I do hurts I give myself at least a 4 week break from that movement. What kind of strength gains are you making? Like 50% jumps on exercises? You are taking TRT and 10mg of var correct?
I’m on 40mg var split twice a day and 300mg test per week so double my test trt dose.
And no I’m not at 50% jump overall more like 20% right now, but I go up by 5 or 10 lbs or so every time I go in on my major lifts and stuff like weighted pull ups and squats are starting to get to me. Mostly at night I really feel it in my knees and elbows are taking too much load.
I’m slowing it down, but when I’m only doing 6 weeks on the var I feel like I want to get the most out of it and it hurts not really pushing myself.
I’m not being stupid about it but I really want to be stupid because it’s so awesome throwing up those heavy weights.
Ok now I see what you're doing.. Can't always listen to our ego. Lift smart
anvilOh I don't think you are stupid, the feeling of pushing myself at the gym...can't get enough of that. The art of working around injuries is how we push on.
If I wasn’t in pain I’d think I was dead
anvilAnd that is why we are who we are my guy!
Definitely an art to it.
