inguinal hernia

ad

as the title says guys, basically was prepping the garden with a wacker plate( about 100kg) ready for artificial grass and like a knob, I got it in a awkward position between the fence and shed and had to lift it out in a very awkward position and bang here I am now lol, didn't think it would have been an issue being as have done 270kg deads, but bad lifting in an awkward position and here I am, anyway am waiting for a date for my op, looking for training or exercises to avoid, as I've had 4 weeks off already and am going mad not training, was thinking just try avoid big movements like squats, leg press's, and deads, rows ect

I'm not getting any pain from my hernia atm and is a small one, anyone here trained with one or had surgery ect

well guys today was the day of the op, all went fine but anaesthetic has worn of now and wow this is bad, can't even cough without it feeling uncomfortable, just looking forward to when can train again

Every hernia is different. Mine went from a small repair and only off work for a week. By the time surgery came two weeks later it had turned into a full blown open repair needing mesh and 3 months off work. Be careful you can make them seriously worse in a short time

am just trying to avoid deads, squats ect, a lot basically lol but did still manage a relatably reasonable weight on bench(140kg) tonight without any pain

Trained with one for years before getting both sides repaired. Your body will tell you when to stop so listen to the feedback and adjust accordingly. Went to a surgeon that works on a lot of athletes on a Tuesday and was back doing light workouts on a Saturday, moderate workouts on Monday and back to normal about 2 weeks later.

Damn, I wish that was my case. Complications after my surgury kept me out of the gym for 3 months.

I feel your pain bro, recently I dislocated a rib and ripped a muscle.

If I were you , get the doctors approval before jumping back into training, I know it sucks not being able to train, but its best to take it easy until you get the doc's good to go.

You could turn 4 weeks off into a year off, play it smart bro.
