Help! Something I know nothing about...
ad
Sprinting..... Does any one do it. I am a pretty stout powerlifter of 15 years. I do zero cardio and due to Drs. orders I need to start. Sprinting I heard will buildup leg muscle and is great for my heart and wont shed years of hard earned muscle mass. But where do I start? how long do I sprint for? what distance is considered a sprint? how many days a week? keep in mind looking to help my heart and legs without shedding muscle!
Please eroiders help me... any and all info you may have. thanks inzer777

aynazppr75Prefered cardio on an empty stomach to burn fat
56tooIf you do your cardio after your w/o you wont lose muscle just fat. Do 30-45 min 3-4 x a wk and watch the fat come off, of course adjusting your diet too. BTW why are you concerned with building leg muscle through aerobic exercise ? Dont you get enough of that with deads and squats ? Just curious
aynazppr75Sprint is pretty similar to BB, both are anaerobic exercices wich explain that sprinters and BB have a lot of mass. Cardio is a aerobic mouvment and more appropriate to my opinion
waltrsprinting is more about max effort while running then distance, try doing intervals..
sprint for 30-45 seconds (run as fast as you can) then walk or jog for a minute, then sprint again and just repeat this until you say fuck this shit and quit.
lol. I know your adding humor but I see the truth in this. I was actually just thinking doing this. maybe run all out for like 30 secs. walk to cool down and repeating until I cant go any more.. I guess my question is how often should I do this to yield heart benefits but not loss tremendous muscle
waltrno i wasn't being funny, i was serious...
i guarantee you'll say fuck this after a couple sprints and your legs feeling like shit the next day ;P
try it and see for yourself
as to not losing muscle, are you on cycle? the gear will help preserve the muscle tissue.
as to the heart health, high intensity interval cardio will provide tremendous benefits due to it stimulating high heart rate spikes and moving blood around, don't really know how often you should do it, i'm not gonna pretend to be a sports nutrition expert
