scootertrampFrom too much running as a kid my knees give me trouble. I switched to hip sled. 8 sets of 20 reps added inches to my upper quads quickly. Changing foot position for isolating muscle groups will help. Low position and my teardrops really feel the burn. High foot position and upper quads and glutes burn. Then i will use hack squats in the same manner. Then laying leg curls, seated leg curls, and finish with leg extensions. If inner thighs lag, dumbell lunges will have you wobbley in no time. Quads are so strong, i found better growth with using this fatigue style. Less knee pressure and I'm fully shakey when i leave.
hey brotha, what was your injury and what are your limitations? are these limitations because of a muscle group that has atrophied due to your injury? with a little more info im sure everyone can come together to get you back on track
SilverbackdTo be honest so I can get some positive feedback I got shot and i healed pretty good but my left knee be acting up here and there ... When I go to do squats I feel ok at beginning but as soon I start to move up in weight my knee feel like its gonna give out so I keep it light .. Just wondering if there anything I can do little by little to get me on right track
damn that sucks man. glad to hear you are recovering. did it pass thru bone or is the giving out due to scar tissue/muscle damage? instead of doing standard squats i would start off doing hack squats, that way if it gives out just let go of the handle and the weight will be caught by the machine, that or use the smith machine. if going heavy isnt working for you right now crank out high reps and make them burn. other than that i would say whatever muscle group was most affected by the bullet, focus on that to build muscle around the injury which will minimize the weakness you are feeling now. while your main focus should remain on whatever group was most effected, dont neglect the other groups
x2 +1 on the hack squats. Watch you feet positioning, see what works best or you. At least on hacks if you get into to trouble it's easy to rack it.
SilverbackdThanks bro I will
Shot in war or shot on the streets? Fuck man that's rough either way.
SilverbackdI live in a rough place I'm just greatful I'm still here cuz it could of been a lot worse
I feel you on that bro. Glad everything worked out for you
