+ 1 Golfers Elbow (Help)!!

ad

Ok I have noticed that this is a common occurence in both the gyms I have been a long time member of and im wondering if anyone has any guru type advice on how to deal/treat this shitty condition.

I have gotten it in both my arms and it really screws up my workouts im taking Fish oil 4 caps a day and glutamine, I heat and massage it daily, and I stretch it but it still doesnt seem to go away.

Just checking back to see how the tendinitis/golfers elbow is doing? Have you taken time off, iced, etc? Hopefully if you followed some of the advice you are starting to feel better.

I lowered my weights for and dr offered me a cortisone shot but I declined. Just fish oil, icing it after workout, then tiger balm and heat. Chest tricep day gives me the most trouble but its getting alot better.

Ice and rest will be your best friend in this situation. If there is any swelling or this is a recent injury, definitely avoid using heat as it increases blood flow which means more swelling and more pain. NSAIDs at 600mg two to three times a day as needed.

Many people don't know what golfers elbow is. It's basically an overuse wrist flexion injury. Most curls or any exercise where you are holding a weight against gravity will increase the condition. Again, rest and ice. If you have to train biceps then hit hammer curls. I'd suggest slight PT with a PT or chiropractor and getting some ultrasound over the injured area. With proper rest you should see great improvement in a few weeks.

Thanks guys I went ahead and made a doc appointment just because it has got repetitive. Im icing for 20-30 mins after gym then heating 2 times a days.

It just really sucks being held back in the gym and having to go down in weight on my lifts makes me want to shed a manly tear. lol

I have it in my left arm, it comes and goes. I find preacher curls, concentration curls etc exacerbate it. Things like hammer curls are ok, the main thing for me is I don't try and curl anything too heavy nowadays, I concentrate on form and squeeze. I tend to use lighter weights and higher reps, which over time has probably got rid of 50% of the problem but its always there. I can't be sure, but I believe I have had a small amount of relief from using hgh.

It's a shitty injury to be honest, sorry to bring the bad news! Keep it supported / strapped up when training anything involving biceps or any pulling motions (back etc). Drop the weight back and give it time.

Hope for a speedy recovery for you buddy.
