Carb cycling
Carb cycling is supposed to cut you up with out losing the weight. Many different sites have different formulas for carb cycling. My experiment went something like this. With my experiment I changed my carbohydrate intake to 1.9 multiplied by my body weight for day one to determine how many carbohydrates I need. On day two I multiplied my weight by 1.2 to determine how many carbohydrates I will consume on this day. On the third day I would eat below 50 grams of carbohydrates. On the high carbohydrate day I would have 200 grams of protein and only 50 grams of fat. On the medium carbohydrate day I would have 250 grams of protein and 70 grams of fat. On the zero carbohydrate days I would consume 300 grams of protein and 90 grams of fat. Each day the I would consume between 2500 to 3000 calories. It is important to have only complex carbs such as yams (my favorite), brown rice and whole grain wheat. I weighed 180 before I started and now I am weighing 175 but it looks like I have actually gained muscle because of the improved vascularity. Bf% before 13 - after bf%7.5. Lost one belt size.
If you have difficulties tracking or looking up food go with my fitness pal (app). It is free and if you are anything like me you will drop all kinds of money on protein and gear but I will be damned if I should have to pay .99 for an app.
