+ 1 Weird but not so Weird Food Combinations
ad
You won't be judged haha but if it's something you've discovered or are just accustomed to it, please share
I like a sliced pickle and peanut butter sandwich, also I'm a fan of dipping fried onion rings in BBQ sauce
I know down south they do chicken and waffles, I finally tried it a couple years ago and I was blown away

Buck I got last week. Bow from about 65 yards.
Bacon wrapped with jalapeño!
That's how I make my timberdoodles. Or wrap with bacon and stuff inside a banana pepper and put on grill.
Have you ever had Roadkill?? LMAO
Around here we call that "drive thru take out"
=))
Only if I killed it. We call it “grilled” venison
HAHAHAHA!!!!
Oh hell yeah!!!! Compound or crossbow??
Compound out of my back sliding glass door. I checked the trail cams that morning and he had raised his nose up and snorted smelling a doe so I knew he would be back that day. Right at about 5 o’clock I was eating and saw him pass in the back yard. Slid the door open grunted to stop him and dropped him didn’t go 5 yards before falling over. Sat back down and finished my dinner then gutted him.
Fuck yeah! Hell of a shot with compound bow!
Deadnuts by the look from my house. Damn
Nice one!
Nice buck. Bow season just opened here and I'm on a OT shift.....sigh.
You've killed Rudolph!!!
Pickled deer heart on a cracker with some raw onions washed down with a cold beer, can't beat it.
First time i went hunting with my uncle's they told me its the wampanoag culture to eat a bite of the heart raw out in the patch. I tried it. Didnt throw up but found out later they were bullshitting me and they dont eat heart tartare anymore. They believe you get the strength of the animal if you eat the heart.
Every first time hunter is told to eat a piece of the heart when they kill a deer. I usually stop them before they do though
I just put a dab of blood on their forehead.
lol....that never gets old.
I think it’s good for a first time hunter to have to at least hold the heart. Teaches you that you just took something’s life and to respect it. Why I also don’t respect people that don’t at least gut their own buck.
When My son got his first pellet gun, I told him he'd gave to eat anything he shot.
The boy shot a squirrel, he dressed it, (with a little guidance) he was squeamish at first but once skinned it looked like meat and he did ok. He went online and found a recipe for smoked bacon wrapped squirrel. And cooked it... but not before shooting a second squirrel so we both had one to eat.
I could see and feel the change in him went from being "cool to kill" into a reverence for what hunting really meant.
Tree rats are some of my favorite small game. The meat is really sweet from all the acorns they eat, especially if they are munching on white oak acorns. The big fatties that wander into my yard that eat all the corn the neighbor puts out for them are even better
Thats awesome!
X2
I've been watching the show lately called American hoggers with my daughter. She seems to like it
Yeah i think it more of a hazing thing now than actual ritual
This one may just take the cake, holy smokes!
I'm assuming you remove its heart yourself after you've killed it and then cook it do you? Even if I was dying of starvation I physically could not do that. Dare I ask what you do with its balls and penis?!
As long as I haven't blown the heart up with a bullet I keep it after gutting it out. Always carry a ziplock with me for that sole reason. I hang the balls/penis and metatarsal glands up in bush since the bucks are usually in rut and that is a good attractant. I have seen pickled deer nuts and penis in the bars around here and one guy even ate one. Still looked like it had some hair on yet
I can't bring myself to do it though.
That's some neanderthal stuff right there haha but I have heard I think bull testicles? are delicacy in some countries. And I don't blame you, they would have to at least have $500 out on the table to even contemplate it. But, I do believe generations have become weaker as they come
I'm good with the back straps!!
'Mountain oysters' bro.....
Like freshwater? Didn't know those existed, but I'm just guessing. Oh yes I always over indulge and end up not feeling too well haha shrimp too
There good? more sweet?
That's the nickname for bull nuts when you prepare/eat them bro......no "oyster"
Uhhmm, no.....They are not really oysters
This all sounds like something off Predator Mak - Anyone who dares come round to your place on a night for some dinner is one brave man LMAO
Chinese curry sauce on top of Fish & Chips is a good one. Marmite and Peanut Butter on Toast. Love the way its only the Brits talking about weird shit we eat LMAO
Marmite?
I think you guys may get Vegemite which is the same thing? Different brand and not at all like the original but its still just like Tar they put on roads Lol
Dated a chick from Australia that introduced me to Vegemite.....just can't do it...tried few times....and I like weird shit LOL.
Vegemite in all honesty is a really bad RIP off of Marmite, I can't eat that version either. But proper Marmite is great - I eat loads of it. About to have some now on toast - it actually has traces of trenbolone in it as its made in the same factory.
Hmmm. Maybe have to find some of that and give it another go on some toast. and with a little squirt of Tren A that's coming on top
HAHAHA Got Ya!!!
How did I know you were going to end up over in this topic hahaha
Probably because I eat Hot & Spicy chicken for breakfast Lmao
@Catalyst come on mate - you must have some weird shit you eat too?!!
I’ve only found one thing considered food I won’t eat. Liquorice. Horrible stuff. Otherwise I’d eat it. My mother used to say I’d eat shit on a stick when I was a kid
Don’t think I have any weird combinations I eat. I don’t consider something to be a meal unless it has a big piece of meat on it. If it t doesn’t, it’s a side dish. Apparently that’s offensive to vegans and vegetarians……
Yeah I remember when I was very young I didn't like liquorice either, but then it grew on me. I can't remember the last time I saw the stuff, penny sweets I guess which are pretty much over as all the school kids shoplifted them LOL Hey get this - Did you know that Gino D'Campo once robbed the singer Paul Young??!!! True story!!
Mmmm hot and spicy chicken. Anytime of day it’s a winner!
Errr I can’t stand marmite, makes me want to vomit lol
Salt, tequila, lime. Maybe that isn't so weird
It's not, but most certainly sounds refreshing paired with a nice sunrise or sunset =))
Topo Chico, 2-3 oz tequila and 1oz lime juice in a glass with ice. Salt rim is you like.
