dropdzzFor two years I've practiced a technique called cyclical fasting. Its not a fast in the traditional sense ,but you over feed on heavy lift days and underfeed on cardio days.On cardio days you only get protien and only a little carb for the few hours after cardio. For me,I do cardio on an empty stomach and then only get 15 g of protien and 10 g of glucose polymers plus creatine and beta alanine.Because this is actually less calories than the cardio burned, you are still in a calorie deficit, hence still fasting .i would then start my normal macrobiotic diet around noon.on the heavy lift days,I only do a cardio warm up but then go straight to the bigs, squat, dead lifts ,or chest routine.I eat immediately after workout and usually around five hundred calories in a 60p/20f/20c format.Im not where I want to be but I have lost 160lbs in two years and have gone from a 54 inch waist to a 36 in and actually a little smaller.ive gone from 370 lbs to 215lbs in two years.I now have stopped the calorie deficit and have been bulking for the last two months ,however still getting smaller in the waistline.
That is an interesting weight loss technique. Congrats on all the weight you lost.
dropdzzProbably not the best technique for building muscle, but works wonders for someone like me who had let themselves go.I now rarely fast.also not sure my diet would have worked had I been natural.I used a nice set of stacks to maintain the muscle I had.I had the help of a libertarian doctor and eroids.I however have been smart and checked bloods on the regular.I am now on a more traditional bulk however I've never been a fan or practitioner of super high caloric intake....well except when I was drinking and eating pizza to get fat in the first place.I still do not eat high glycemic carbs.
ManimalKingKetogenic carb cycling and re feed.
This is my favorite too! It also helps avoid post contest rebound in my opinion
ManimalKingI keep an AccuCheck in my kitchen to test my blood sugar when I'm cutting.
Really helps you when you know exactly where you're at
Then balancing your GI should be easy as cake.
Everything works if you stick to the basic principles. Different individuals need different approaches in different situations.
ManimalKingHey dude, I know he's nega karma but this isnt helpful. I would have enjoyed reading your diet preference instead. Your post came off condescending and I had to say something..
"Everything works if you stick to the basic principles."
-this isn't very insightful
"Different individuals need different approaches in different situations."
-this also is a very obvious thing to say about any subject matter.
I think in general when someone asks an honest question, you should at least answer his question with a decent answer.
Good day friend.
