Thanks bro, sarge it right though it isn't something you would want to consider on cycle, or even post cycle for that matter. It was a suggestion for precycle as long as there was a large gap between gym time. It makes you think about food in a whole different way. From there you can ease into excercise and ultimately lifting so that the results are so much more pronounced.
It would eat quite a bit, dude. Not something you'd want to do on cycle/s. That would be a waste of good gear : ( this would good to do beforehand. Followed by lots of pushups, situps, body weight exercises, etc, etc, etc. To build up stabilizing muscles, before a cycle. Imo
No... This is a bit more extreme than a calorie deficit, dude. This is ONLY WATER, not eating anything, for a while! If you aren't feeding your muscles, how will they sustain themselves? There is no protein, etc, in water. Protein is the easiest to break down, fat is the hardest. So it makes sense that your dying body, would eat the quickest source of fuel it could 1st.
U are correct this method only garantees extreame muscle loss with little fat. This is why ur body makes fuel (ATP)by the means of glycolysis, citric acid cycle and electron transport chain. ATP can be made by carbs and protien the easiest! Fat can also be made into fuel but very little, the body prefers the other 2. Any time u fast ur body takes more muscle mass than fat all the time, ur heart needs fatty acids to make a beat, ur body needs protien for organs, hormones, enzymes and cell construction as u see the body has more use of protien than fat and it reserves fat for ur heart. So sorry man that method will make u loose more muscle than fat. And i know this cuz im in med school.
that makes some sense. there are numerous ase studies of long term water fasts with no ill effects. are you familiar with the PSMF technique? do you think only a gram of protein per pound is eneough to stave off muscle loss? i agree with you that a water fast is not a great idea. just sticking to it would be a nightmare and you would have to have an iron will not to binge after like two days.

a case study of a massively obese man fasting for over a year. even if you are not super massive it shows that a week without food probably wont kill you.
Ok. So you're basically saying a water only diet!? Wow, who'd of thunk it : ) I would say, yeah, that would certainly force your body to eat itself alright... Is think that would work well, w/a basic training kind of pre cycle routine right afterwards. Eating properly, of course. Ultimately followed by a cycle. I think I'd rather take a less drastic way if I had a choice. That being said, I fast for a day every month, just about... Good read, brother
56tooThanks man, food for thought;-). I wonder how much muscle that would eat up though? Plus one from me bro, appreciate it

doesn't the gear keep you from losing mass? i thought the point of "cut cycles" was to make it possible to eat less without losing muscle.
