+ 8 Why hard gainers struggle to take in enough food

ad

I realize some people just love food and love eating and can eat on demand 24hrs a day. I'm one of those people and find myself hungry at least every 2 hours and try and limit my meals to not much more than 1/2Lb of meat at one sitting and 60-100carbs and fats IDK 20-40gs a sitting if its good fat.

That being said, I have found one of the main reasons I'm so hungry all the time is because I avoid processed foods and "natural" foods that are loaded with enzyme inhibitors, preservatives, and pesticides. Just think, if your eating food that has been doused with enzyme inhibitors how much harder does your body have to work to break it down? How much longer does it take before it is in the blood stream? I know I've eaten shit when I feel full for 4 hours.

All you guys out there saying you could never put down a gallon of milk a day in addition to your regular meals, BS!! get yourself some raw milk from a farm and you'll find it sits like water even at a higher fat content than regular whole milk. It's loaded with enzymes and CLA and all that good stuff.

You say you feel too full after a half pound burger and a couple potatos & veggies? Get yourself some grass fed beef from a butcher and an organic potato, ditch the bun and I guarantee after a week or 2 you'll be starving within 90 minutes and fixing yourself something else.

Eating tons of diseased, osteoporosis ridden chicken's breast thats injected with up to 2% chicken solution is far from easy to put down in weight gain quantities. Get yourself some pastured chicken thighs and quarters and you'll be putting down 3/4lb of meat without noticing and still hungry.

Some of what I'm saying is part of what people call that paleo crap - I don't follow it, but I read some some on it and alot of what they are saying is true.

And money wise, eating real food is not much more expensive if you cook it yourself from scratch buy in bulk and have money to spend on gear and weight gainer shakes, you can take less gear and less weight gainer and get more solid muscle mass gains. Just my 2 pennies, wishing you hard gainers the best, no one should be force feeding themselves, that means your body can't do anything with what your taking in at that point cause your unable to process effectively what is already in there.

As far as force feeding yourself, get your pro card and tell me you don't need to do that. But everything else I agree with. Except for price, my family has an organic farm and if I wasn't able to get the stuff for free I would spend 3-4x what nasty gmo, antibiotic laced shit costs. It is expensive but very worth it, gear is hard enough on the bod as it is, you don't want to further stress yourself.

I agree 100%. Recently I had been downing several huge 1000 calorie shakes a day with tons of gmo corn starch, sugar, processed milk, pb (natural so not had) and lots of protein powder. With 3 of these a day I should have been getting tons of extra calories. But the thing was I was never hungry for real food and found it very difficult to get anything down. I also wasnt really making any gains. I dropped all those shakes and went back to my mostly¤ paleo diet. What do you know... with in a week my appetite came back, Im able to get 4-5 whole food meals in (still do one shake before bed) and I started making gains all of a sudden.

Good post, +2 mate. (Nearly 50).

If you can't kill, grow it, pull it out the ground etc then don't eat it. Natural, unprocessed food all the way. I'm like you, I can't eat regularly and have a huge appetite, but getting enough is a huge problem for a big percentage of the guys on here.

Raw Milk Can Be Hit Or Miss. Sure Tons More Protein/Carbs/Fats Even Tastes Night And Day But You Are Still Taking On the Risk Of Bacteria. Not Bashing Just My Two Cents Ive Had A Faze Where I Was A Super Health Nazi.

That Being Said Excellent Points On Processed Garbage.

I havent tried raw milk yet, still looking for a source. But I have started getting non homogenized. I had a similar experience the first time I drank it. I got horribly gassy and really bad stomach cramps, I also hadnt drank any milk at all for over a year a that point. But I had hough a gallon of this stuff for $7 so I was determined to drink the rest of it. The 2nd time was a little better, and by the 3rd my body had adjusted and learned to digest it. Now im totally good to go. Maybe if you gave the raw milk another try or 2 it might work out for you.

Good post i've felt this way before for sure after piggin out not wanting to eat for a long period of time is common for me, in addition i wanna also mention that i found interesting how high calorie-dense foods work in my body. I must eat lots of , pasta, pureed vegetables, dried fruit, whole eggs, raw oatmeal and steak to gain weight. Also SLEEP makes me grow. As a reminder veggetables fish and all those low-dense calories food are not gonna make you big and they are gonna stuff u for hours as well(they are healthy choices but not what hard gainers need IMO). I have managed to stay in the 176-180 pounds. And for a strong hectomorph with a monster metabolism like me is hard to mantain weight. Great post and just wanna share my lil experience. You deserve a +1 for this bro.

Organic veggies and fruit are better bought frozen so find a grocery store that has them. Frozen organic fruit and veggies are actually better for you. Potatoes and oats and stuff you can get through a co-op. Again not hard to do if you put a little effort into it.

Milk, you can get raw milk that comes frozen, you gotta call certain farms that aren't too far away (1-2 days shipping time) and get them to freeze it and ship it. Freezing doesn't do much damage to it, if any. They won't sell it for human consumption, but tell them its for your pet or your animal and they will know your cool. It's basically like an under the table drug deal getting it sometimes. but seriously not that hard. Make sure the cows are mostly grass fed or fully.

it totally depends where you are. i haven't drank milk in few years, but back in 2009 in western pa it ran from 3.50-5/gallon. regular store milk was like 3 something, so its not THAT much more expensive. unless you plan on drinking enough milk to rival a baby whale, its not a a significantly more expensive option imho.

$5 a gallon is a GREAT price. I've paid anywhere from $8-$12 - But IMO thats still cheaper than other crap we buy that produces ZERO lasting results and has no long term health benefits. Ie.99.9% of all bb supplements.

Great post. I can't stand the crap grocery stores carry these days.

I usually buy all organic produce and fresh meats. You have to look hard but there still is some healthy foods out there not processed and without all the preservatives, sodium and junk additives.

Unfortunately I do not live in an area where I can just buy eggs from a farm, but I would If I could. Thanks for the post, I actually learned some valuable information.

I like your diet, but if this is true then why are there so many fat people that just eat McDonald's all the time
