Eating VS Supplement.
ad
I have a few questions but my first is about not being able to eat as much and when i need to on a bulking cycle. My job wont allow me the time or place to have the food i need to keep up with calorie intake i need so my question is can i supplement with a meal replacement/protein shake? The cycle I'm going on is only my second one and my first was almost 3 years ago. With that said if i don't eat enough food will i just be miserable the whole time and or will my gains be little to nothing?

Thanks everyone for the input and advice i will take all this into consideration and do what i can. So it seems for my job i will just need some good protein bars and sandwiches and call it a day.
Thanks
I've worked a desk job where I would make the night before a half gallon of milk with russian bear weight gainer, threw in an extra scoop or 2 or 3 of protein and the bear and than in the morning when I leave for work dump in a bunch of ice cubes in (cause its a half gallon mixed in a gallon container) I wrap that mess up throw it on my desk at work and every hour drink a few cups. by the end of the day it's all gone and still teetering on the brink of lukewarm. Makes for a good conversation piece too if you don't take yourself too seriously and can laugh with your coworkers about it. I've also been known to make and eat large quantities of low sodium boars head sandwiches with excessive amounts of mustard at my desk. Just bring a loaf of bread and a couple pounds of cold cut in your man purse. The best days were when I would get a loaf of german bread at the bakery and have to break it or slice it myself. The cleaning lady would crap her pants when she saw the pile of crumbs under my chair.
When Im at work I sneak to the toilet and eat a protein bar if need be. I wouldnt want to be going any longer than 4 hours without anything in my stomach while trying to bulk or diet
4 hours? I think 2.5 is the most I could handle without getting irritable and feeling like I was cannibalizing myself
It's worth a try, I don't have problems degesting food, I just need to increase my appetite some how, force feeding is so tough for me. Ill research these enzymes to see if they will benefit me.
Try fasting and not eating 20hours a day, it sucks lol
when your eating 800 cals every four hours is tough especially when your 5'7 with a 30" waist. My stomach is bursting come bedtime it's mentally tough aswell force feeding, people think dieting is hard trying to force feed is just as bad especially with good quality macros. Plus I get all my calories from food, the only shake I have is an amino acid shake after training.
try some digestive enzymes. i was having a hard time eating as many calories i needed from good food too. as soon as i started using the digestive enzymes i was actually hungry again within 2.5 hours. its been incredible. i don't feel like im going to explode all the time
eating whole foods will make the world of difference. If your eating cheap food loaded with enzyme inhibitors and preservatives you'll be bloated and full for hours. raw milks, grass fed animal products and organic fruits and veggies all digest super easy and have tons more nutrients. makes a world of difference. drinking a gallon of whole milk in an hour is one of those "impossible" things.. Drinking a galloon of raw milk in an hour which has a higher fat content is easy and you'll still be hungry 2-3 hours later. Just sayin....
if you have the money to eat 4000+ cal of that kind of food a day, you are a rich man.
Better question, can you afford not to? financially on the long term it's probably not much more than 10%-15% more if your wise about it, but I actually probably spend much less than the average person on many other stupid things. . For instance, People spend $100/month for phone service (more if you include the average number of cell phones and accessories purchased per/person/year) and cable tv thats about $50-$100 people spend, both of which IMO are possibly the dumbest way to throw money down the toilet. Health Insurance also is another black hole to throw money into. (i've been self pay for my family for the last 2 years and have spent less per year than I did previously on co-pays and buying into company insurance.) Dr's and hospitals will actually negotiate down to realistic charges for people who pay cash at time of visit. But thats a whole other story and there is some things to consider..
anyway, my point being, if your priority is being healthy and putting on some pounds, its not a matter of rich vs. poor. Its a matter of a will and a way, pardon the cliche'
man if my priority was health, i wouldn't be on this site
Prepack your meals. Get a few shakers and mix your shakes with water ? Fast and easy !! Also protein bars is quick.
X2^ if you have enough time to drink and mix a shake you have enough time to eat a pb and j or a chicken sand. Even if you have to work with one hand and eat in the other (what I do often lol) then make it happen. Eating correctly on cycle makes the world of difference in results. Good luck boss.
oh man the ice cold soggy chicken sandwich everyday is a nightmare. but well worth it on cycle. or off cycle even.
Lmao! Gotta love trying to look great lol. Gotta go through many soggy cold meals!
and all the assholes that say "why do you eat that shit every day?" and i answer, "because i dont want to look like you".
