hello everyone Im curious if there is anyone who eats protein bars? which one is your favorite? I eat them often when Im in rush or right after gym

I don't eat protein bars because I think that natural foods are best.
Alphamale500Besides the actual big name high protein bars, KIND makes some very tasty and healthy protein bars. They don't contain the high amount of protein that you'll get from many of those big name protein bars, but you'll get a very good amount of something just as important which is healthy, or "good fats".
Each bar contains approximately 12-13g of "good fats", and a good amount of fiber and protein. The good fats are monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats. These fats are very important not only for your heart, cardiovascular and lipid health, but also for building muscle! They have many delicious flavors and blends. My favorite blend is Almond, Caramel and Sea Salt.
I eat a quest bar in emergency situations. They’re the best I’ve found, although they vary from batch to batch flavor wise. The chocolate chip cookie used to taste just like cookie batter, now I can’t eat it, but every once in a while I try a batch and it’s pretty good. Oatmeal cookie is usually pretty decent tho.
Regardless, I might have 4 a month... if that. I do have about a shake a day, but the rest comes from whole food
I keep some Costco protein bars in my locker at work for emergency’s. Taste pretty good for what they are. Trick is to spread some peanut butter on top, then they are bomb.
Peanut butter makes everything better!
Alphamale500Yeah, peanut butter is great, and it can make anything taste great! I used to get these protein bars from the vitamin store that were like pure bars of peanut butter with little chunks of nuts inside. Omg, fuckn AWESOME bro! Made by chef somebody, I can't remember.

If I do, I make my own. I have rarely found a bar that didn't taste like it was vitamin infused and dry as chalk. I'd rather just eat a regular candy bar like a Snicker or a Payday

Alphamale500Years ago, I used to eat those BIG Met-Rx bars like crazy! Chocolate chip cookie dough, Peanut butter pretzel, fuckn amazing!!! I would buy them by the case and sometimes end up eating like 4 or 5 at a time, more like a meal than a snack! I'd take like 3 of the peanut butter pretzel and 2 of the chocolate chip cookie dough, put em on a plate and heat them up in the microwave just for a lil. Omg, with some cold milk so good!! And I'd eat em like that multiple times per day!
The thing I didn't take into account was all the saturated fat they have in them. One bar has like 40% of your daily value of saturated fat. I was eating so many that they actually raised my liver enzymes and had me in the very early stages of developing NAFLD (Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease). I immediately changed my diet and had to lose some weight to lower my enzyme levels and reverse my fatty liver condition. Along with some liver supplements.
I was able to completely reverse my condition and learned a good life lesson. And with healthy eating, training and vitamin and liver supps, today I have a perfectly healthy liver. I had numerous ultrasounds done on my liver and even a liver biopsy to make sure everything was good. And thank God, everything's fine! While some saturated fat may be good for building muscle, it's always important to keep track of your overall intake. And be sure to read the Nutritional Facts on the package of those protein bars.
TrenDaddylove them. Just dont go for the ones with a crap ton of calories in them. I get the ones from costoco and they have about 200 cals and 20g protein, and taste great so thats always a plus
If you need to grab a protein bar, pay attention to the type of protein in the bar as well as sugar, carbs, and calories. Stay away from bars using soy as a primary protein. I've found the Gatorade protein bars to be reasonably priced, tastes good, and has a good ratio of carbs to whey protein to make it a fair post workout supplement.

jayiskstopped eating protein bars along time ago. But if i was on the road and in a jam and i needed some quick cals i would grab one.

Unless you are prepping for Mr. O then you would have your food cooler with real prepped food. But that is not realistic for everyone esp. with hectic schedules or shit that just pops up on a daily basis that is out of your control.

Dude I fuck with those cookies. Only a couple a month but in a pinch they’re the shit. My buddy in work is addicted to them. Calls them his secret weapon haha
haha, for me its really easy to be addicted because Im always craving for sweets
I like the lenny and Larry's cookies. About the only ones I think don't taist like horse feed and vitamin.

Must admit I do love a good protein bar after a meal as a desert sometimes if you can find one that tastes like a good chocolate bar. Ones with added BCAA's and creatine are the most useful I find. I couldn't eat one on its own if I was hungry but as an added extra they are nice. The ones in the U.K are different to overseas in terms of availability though I guess.

As you can see, we've all been through protein bars.
In the end, however, clean food always wins. Eat healthy, grow and save money.

I don’t have any problem, you said you all have been through protein bars, I thought it means you are more experienced and know shit better, its all because Im not new to bodybuilding but Im new to all things around bodybuilding, diet, how properly use gear and all that things, so again no problem here

Only real food counts. If you want to enjoy it as a treat or a light snack that’s fine but like Rich Piana would say, it doesn’t count as a meal. As long as you get all your real food it’s fine to add on top of your current meals.

No. I make my shakes from mostly from oatmeal, bananas sylk high protein almond & cashew milk, whey isolate(plain no flavor) egg whites and peanut butter. All the fake stuff in protein bars is too much for me. Plus my body reacts better to food.

Not a significant source of protein, but they have a good amount of essential fatty acids(good fats), some fiber and a bit of protein with just a tad of sugar!! They taste fuckn awesome too. A very good source to get your good fats.

Protein bars are good when you don't have the time to eat real food. nothing beats real food though if you can do it!
If not it's really hard to find a good bar that's high in quality protein and low in carbs and not full of fake ingredients!
They’re great for when you’re craving something sweet or are in a hurry. I eat the zone perfect macros bars and the lenny & Larry protein cookies.

The bars are 67g and that's why they cost a lot.
I've never tasted them but the fact that you don't really know what they are made of pushes me not to take them. They all look the same.
