creatine

Do you think creatine is actually worth taking?

pantera's picture

No not unless your a vegetarian.

Yes. Best creatine is the Krea-Genic. It is a patented double buffered creatine monohydrate. being double buffered you dont have to make loading period and all you take it will be absorbed. also it doesnt have to be taken with carbs, like dextrose, for absorbtion. Also, like every creatine you have to cycle it

100% worth it. There are so many studies that back up all the benefits.

It bulked me up by about 6-7 pounds and at the time was the only performance enhancer I could take but the cramps were insane. I would get the kind of leg cramps you see soccer players leave the field in a stretcher over. Once I stopped taking it the cramps went away.

Yes. Proven effective and very affordable these days.

It is the most researched supplement on the market by far! And an overwhelmingly large majority of studies have found that there are positive effects to take creative at a dose of 2g to 4g a day. Mono hydrate in its pure form is the best to take, all other with flavors and other additives or a waste of money. As with anything some people have adverse reactions cramping or gas, stomach aches, or no reaction at all, but that is true with any substance. It's no magic beanstalk, but I find when I take it I can get in a couple extra reps before muscle failure compared to when I am not supplementing with it. And of course the more reps you do the more volume you lift and the more time under tension your muscle experience and I have learned that is the secret to building mass.

If I could choose only 1 OTC supplement, creatine would probably be the one.

No reason to not take it. you only need 2-4g a day at most, it's cheap and its essentially an energy source. Most especially if your on a low carb diet.

It's not magic but it definitely works to boost ATP and even some muscle/water retention which is good.

some people don't notice much on it because they are likely more efficient at processing creatine from beef and other protein sources. You cannot process more than 2g a day so for people who get around that much from food taking it just gets pissed out. Likewise, taking 5-10g a day is a waste, you just want the body to reach its saturation point.

It replenishes atp to help with endurance and recovery. Strength increase especially in squats and its also been found to increase dht, which is 4x as androgenic as testosterone. So yeah its worth taking.

Slight strength gains I got when using it when I first started lifting.. about 17 or 18 years old. I used monohydrate at the time but piggybacked it with some lemon juice for better absorption. I can't really say if it does anything for me now, I still use it in my preworkout though.

Never noticed a damn thing personally except cramping. Other guys swear by the stuff. I think it effects people differently. Only one way to find out if it works for you.

If you are a responder to creatine it can be worth it to supplement with it. This is because you more than likely can't get enough through diet alone to mimic what supplementing with it does.

Just my little .02
