If you know you're going to have sex that night, what time of day should you take it? I've read some people say they take it at 10-20mg 30mins before but others say they take it at 10-20mg 3-4 hours before to get the full effect?
What are your personal experiences with regards to timing and dosage?

25 mg cause that's what my tabs come in and I take it 2 hours before just to be safe and don't worry about walking around with a massive woody before then it takes stimulation to get it to go
Break that thing up and to quarter sections or even half sections if you have to. You do not need anywhere near that much.

Ace VenturaIdeally, I take it 30min prior, on an empty stomach. If that's not possible, it seems to work fine within 24hrs....up to 72hrs.
Most people only really need 5-10mg and they don't realize it so they just assume 20mg is the magical number. But if you do a little bit of research on Cialis you'll realize that it has a 72 hour life. So it's really not going to matter what time you take it. Now Viagra on the other hand is completely different and you need to time it out because it only last for a couple hours. I keep it simple and I buy by my Cialis in bulk and I take half a pill/10mg eod (every other day) and I'm ALWAYS ready to go.
Overthinking it is what's going to cause you the actual erectile dysfunction. Don't think about it, don't stress about it, the shit works regardless of time you take it. Trust me I can take 10mg and fuck three or four times a day for two or three days before I need more.
Go on the website and read the directions. I use it for BPH - but it also has the pleasant side effect that most people buy it for. Personal experience - around an hour before sex - don't chew it - take it whole with some alcohol - not copious amounts - but the alcohol will help it get into your system faster. Telltale sign that it is working is a warm/flushing feeling in the face (not everyone gets that)....if you do - time for some sweet words for your partner...and enjoy....and regarding dosage - 10mg is plenty - lots of guys take big doses - total waste.
Big dosages are a waste in my opinion too. 5mg and I'm superman.
I agree. I buy 10mg tabs - break them in half - twice the value - twice the fun ;-) have a good one.
