Thinking about running my first cycle

ad

Hi all, I have been lifting for years and have been stuck at 160-165 for a long time. I want to do a cycle that will help me get past my plateau but nothing to "hard" for my first cycle. I read alot of advice on the forums and it looks like the best thing for me is just a Test E cycle. My questions are about when to use the AI, SERM, HCG, PCT.

I think I understand the AI, and that running an AI like Anastrozole at the same time as the Test will help block the extra test from turning into estrogen. I just want to make sure I am understanding this correctly.

After reading about the HCG, this should be run on the back half of my cycle to help my body keep naturally producing test on its own since it will stop making it awhile after taking the Test E, correct?

Where I am confused at, is the SERM and PCT. I see a popular SERM is either Nolva or Clomid but when do I use these? I see some suggestions for nolva in the first few weeks of a cycle but I was thinking these were PCTs. Can anyone give me guidance for what I should use for a Test cycle?

Lastly, since I a lighter than the average person doing a cycle, should I take lower dosages than the average recommended?

try making a weight gainer shake every morning when u wake up. something like:
2-3 cups milk
1 cup ground oatmeal
1 spoonful of peanut butter
1-2 scoops protein powder
1 banana

i usually drink a shake like this everyday and try to get one in at nighttime with casien as well.
these may take a hour or so to get down but it is easy calories to get down. try it for a week or two and i bet you'll gain some weight. just make sure to stay consistent with it

Thanks for the quick feedback. I have a crazy high metabolism and not much appetite so I have to force feed myself. I know I am still not eatting enough but I think I should be seeing some sort of gains for what I am eatting know. I used to eat very clean/lean sticking to whole grains for carbs and fish/chicken/nuts/whey for protien. My body fat was extremely low, it stayed around 6 and 7% doing that so obviously I wasnt having any gains. Now I eat anything and everything, I start my morning with half a box of cereal or half a loaf of rasin bread and then have a protien bar a couple hours later. For lunch I eat out and get a big sub or something equivalent. Then I have another big meal right when I get off of work, sometimes an entire large pizza or half a box of pasta. I lift an hour and a half after eating and then eat a quick snack of greek yogurt or cottage cheese before making my last meal before bed of some protien like chicken or fish. Since I have been eating like this my BF% varies usually between 8-9%. Still pretty low for trying to make gains I think but I just cant force myself to eat anymore, I dont get hungry, I just know that if I am not feeling full then it is time to force feed again and it is hard to keep doing that constantly haha

What you're saying is incredibly common in underweight guys who want to run a cycle. I know you think you're eating a lot, but if you really were you'd weight more than you do. You need to set a calorie goal and then meet it every day, consistently. The only way it's going to happen is if you count up your calories every day and make sure you're hitting your target. If you're unable to eat enough to grow, than the gains you make on cycle will not only be very modest but will completely disappear once you come off as it's the calories that maintain the mass. Try to eat 6-8 meals a day, spaced 2-3 hours apart, and snack in between. Anybody can life weights or inject oil. Diet is what separates the people who reach their goals and the people who spend their life spinning their wheels. You may find that once you add up all your calories, you're not eating as much as you think.

Thanks, I will start counting my calories/protein and post my results after a week to see what I can do to increase my food intake. Do you know of anything that I could take to help increase my appetite or safely slow down my metabolism?

Aneas has a great point. The only way you will know if you can gain some noticeable weight is to jump on a real mass gaining diet as he described (there are several examples here on eroids). My guess is that you have an ectomorph body, which can be very challenging to put weight on. I would go with this for a few months and see what it gets you. After that, you will have a better idea on what to do with your possible aas use.
Best of luck.

Get your diet down first. At your height, you have potential to get bigger naturally and if you're stuck at 160 it's because you're not eating enough. Count literally every calorie you consume and then start trying to add more. To answer your question about SERMs, they are typically run for PCT and on a test-e cycle, that would begin ~2 weeks after your last pin. Sometimes you'll hear about someone using nolva during their cycle as a preventative measure against gyno, but if you can get away with not using it during cycle you're probably better off. If you've got an AI, you should be fine while on. Again though, diet first.

Need to eat more man. Simple as that. You should post up an example of what you normally eat a day.
