Need drawing advice - wasted gear
So I bought 18 gauge needles to draw the oil into the syringe. I followed the correct procedure, I put 3 CC of air into a full 10 ml vial of Lixus test cyp, while it was upside down, I then drew 1 cc of test cyp into the syringe. As soon as I pulled out the needle, there was so much pressure in the bottle that I estimate I lost about 0.5 CC of juice that squirted out of the rubber stopper the second the needle was removed from it. What did I do wrong? Too much air into the vial? I didn't even need to really pull back on the plunger because as soon as I pushed in all the air, it was almost as if the syringe was beginning to fill itself up with oil.
Also, how can you minimize the gear lost after an injection? When I'm done injecting I notice a few drops still stuck in the needle, and some liquid stuck to the top of the plunger.

i personally use an 18g to draw. Because of the size of the needle i never push air into the vial. There is really no need for pressure assistance due to the large size. As far as some leakage when injecting....ive injected well over 100 times and maybe only a dozen imes i had a little leak. dont know why. as the tip gets close to exiting i tilt it a tad and put other finger tip over top when pull out and massage muscle a bit to work the oil around. now some disagree with me here but of course i always aspirate. After i push the plunger in all the way i again pull back a tad just like i was aspirating. It allows a small tiny airbubble or two into the syringe.then push plunger back down. with the tiny bit of air behind the left over oil it forces into the muscle and the tiny air bubble is all thats left in the neck. also like stated below....dont get lazy with it and risk infection....follow normal everytime procedures and always wipe tops and location with prep pads. and to avoid a bit of burn let alchohol on site evap before injecting.
When I open the syringe it isn't plunged all the way (turumo) I push that little bit in the vial. When I pull the 18ga out I hold the plnger so it still has suction. When u pin it leave a little air bubble in the syringe so when you bottom it out the air pushes that last bit in there. When you pull it out pull the skin to the side right after the pin comes out, that will prevent leakage. Good luck bro hope this is helpful.
also with a a 18ga i wouldnt think you would need any air put into the vial to withdraw the gear. it should flow very well with that big of a needle.
imo your 18ga needle is too big. use a smaller one: 22 or 23 ga. you can shoot with either of those or a 25ga. but i think that the problem is that the 18ga needle is stretching the butyl stopper, also your putting way to much air in the vial, if your wanting to draw out 1cc then only put 1cc or 2cc max of air into the vial then start drawing out your gear. using a 18ga and 3cc of air is the problem.
I use 23 all around. Yes it is a little slower draw but then don't all the extra pins around. Only put in (air) a tad more than you are going to take out. And like LG said, use a pin that is at least 2x your draw. For 1 ml, I use a 3 ml pin. The drop left is part of the deal as is the bit you can't pull at the end in the vial. Chalk it up to the cost of doing business.
One big thing is to make sure you are following good septic technique. A lot of guys skip till they get their first infection... Get a box of prep wipes (any drugstore). With each draw, open one and wipe the top of the vial (if you have amps, skip this). Then wipe the pin location. Do a good 3 square inches. Then do your draw. Don't do the wipe and draw right away as you want the alcohol to evap first.
I use 18g to draw. I Only put in (air) what im taking out (cc) it works for me with no lost gear. Make sure you push in the plunger in all the way when injecting. any little drop left in thier after pushing the plunger in all the way is just part of the game :}..
Good luck..

Maybe 18 g is too big for even drawing...I use 21 g 1.5" ( green ) to draw and 23 g 1.25" ( blue ) to shoot. The smaller the gouge number the bigger the nominal inner diameter of the needle.Dont jerk the needle in the rubber. It makes the hole bigger.
Also you dont need 3 ml air when you draw out only 1 ml gear.It creates too much pressuure.
1.You have to use 2x bigger syringe than the liquid you wanna draw. 1 ml gear needs a 2 ml syringe.
2.The drown air in the syringe should equal to the gear you wanna shoot. 1 ml gear
needs 1 ml air.U use the green needle...bigger needle easier to draw...
3.Press the 1 ml air into the vial and draw 1 ml gear into it and 0.1 ml extra.
4.Pull back the plunger so the gear in the needle will go to the syringe. Not a big amount still save you some gear.
5.Change the needle for the 23 g ( blue one ) smaller neddle less pain...
6.Push the air out of the syringe so that some gear dripping from the needle.
7.Drive the needle into the muscle, aspirate, and proceed if there is no blood in the syringe.
Yes, you'll still have some gear in the needle and the neck of the syringe, but you cannot do anything about it.That's why the extra 0.1 ml to draw.
I guess this is the standard procedure.
