+ 1 Does it have to always be test? First Cycle
ad
Seems the standard advice on a first or second cycle is to simply bump up the test to 400/600 or whatever.
Wondering why test solo is always recommended?... understand that it's needed as a base for various reasons e.g. sexual function & AAS are suppressive. but
There are AAS that seem to have a better side effect profile for certain goals. .e.g. Var or Eq
Sides of concern on higher test are aromatization & DHT sides like speeding up MPB
What about 200 test c and idk... 400 eq for 20 weeks? (may help if endurance is part of the goal)
Or test and var for 10 weeks? (if the goal is not bulking)
Or test and XXX?

Addressing further; the consensus through what I've seen over the years is that test is a very manageable AAS in terms of side effects. It also helps you gauge your tolerance to sides and estrogen control.
If you feel you've gotten that from your TRT, good. However, running compounds at higher dosages can cause different side effects. Side effects you may not have had on a TRT dose. Again, if you feel you have a handle on it, good.
That being said, I think you understand that some form of test is needed as a base for functional purposes.Every other compound has positives and negatives to running them - in addition to running them longer or shorter with a particular dose of test - seeing as there are a multitude of choices in AAS stacks running a cycle, what you will run should depend on your goals and experience.
As for the handling side effects of particular AAS there seems to be mixed consensus in some areas i.e. Hair loss and MPB (which was brought up a few times already.) this in my opinion sometimes cannot be helped as some have genetical predisposition(or the particular chemical makeup of a steroid/substance) to Side effects like MPB, Cholesterol, Hypertension, or whatever.
Anyhow I enjoyed all the readings and I appreciate you keeping it civil and a progressive post. +1
Good luck.
i8bobThanks Trenjamin, point taken not sure how I'll react at high test doses but do know I start to shed hair at around 150-200 assume this will only get worse at a higher dose
If your thinking eq is going to increase your endurance due to raising your rbc therefore more oxygen in muscles you could be in for a suprise, you may end up lethargic with head aches and even slower, what something is stated on paper or an internet forum can be different to an individual in real life, eq has its place if used correctly, it can be a tricky one if not careful, the blood pressure sides can kill you if not prevented.
i8bobThanks Flash, I have slightly low BP and RBC but will watch that closely
General rule of thumb: If you are prone to MPB you will speed up the process with AAS which you have already found. IF you are super concerned about your hair then I would suggest looking up methods to mitigate the damage from DHT. Or just keep doing what you are doing with TRT I see on your other post that you have only been on for 9 months. Your goals are simple and obtainable without the risks of extra sides. If you think EQ is mild on sides I would beg to differ. Shit gives me anxiety so bad I start to lose my mind(worse then tren!) so screw my hair at that point lol. I personally have trashed over $500 worth of that stuff because I didn't even want to look at it. So my advice to you is ride that TRT and look into training. Maybe go grab a high altitude mask at a sports equipment store. They are cheap, help with endurance and very rarely cause MPB. Just my 0.02
i8boblol thanks mofo, yeah the potential anxiety thing definitely isn't enticing especially with such a long half life
Maybe I'll start with one vile, ramp slowly and see how that goes... still not decided though
If you're on TRT already, research how the guys on TRT run it. 400 mg EQ is a waste. How many weeks would you run that?
i8bobApparently EQ has the undecylenate ester which has a very long half life... probably why some folks say it does nothing for them... cause it's not run long enough (they say) not many studies on this out there but it makes sense. Consensus seems to be, from the folks that like it, a longer run of around 16-20 weeks.
Consensus has also been that most run it higher to see the desired results.
It has a cypionate ester too
i8bobyeah Med, I did see some logs on EQ with other esters, interesting, but don't have access to those right now unfortunately
Okay. Thats good. Are u any closer to understanding why test is used, not only as a single compound for a first cycle, but for a base in a cycle, even when other compounds are being utilized?
i8bobyeah, defiantly get that it's needed as a base.
How are you to determine what compound is causing what effect(positive or negative) if you run multiple compounds your first cycle?
i8bobThat's a good question, lucky I already know what my response is to test (and high or low e2)
i8bobI'm on TRT so know what test & AI's are about, at least at a low dose, and yes it works extremely well, gained 20lb in no time, but there are noticeable sides
So far not getting a decent answer to this question, and have done a ton of research, one that's backed by scientific fact.
If you don't know the reason for the status quo, that's fine.
Test only first cycle so you feel what test is all about, can dial your AI in, and you know which compound is causing sides. Use the search feature up top and look for "first test cycle." I can tell already you aren't fully informed on how to run EQ either. Trust. TEST ONLY and maybe, just maybe some proviron. Nothing else. You also didn't mention an AI or PCT. You're not ready. Read more.
i8bobFlac, you're making assumptions about what I know or don't and assumptions are the mother of all...
I'm on TRT and know how to use AI's, just wanted to keep the question simple.
Mentioning that you're on TRT from jump would have been helpful broseph.
i8bobSorry, my bad
Asking the same question again hoping for a different response will definitely get you one. You will be flamed.
Your attempt to use EQ on a first cycle has been asked by you and answered.

i8bobwith all due respect GearHead, it's not the same question again
First was a review of a cycle... which was lacking, and sent me back to the drawing board.
The question is now, why only test.
Still haven't got a good scientific answer to that question.
LMAO - If you're looking for a "scientific answer" to your question backed by NIH studies and the like - you will be waiting forever. The recommendation comes from the experience of members here over many years. Test cycles produce quality gains with minimum sides. Even DHT can be controlled. It is an opportunity for a beginning user to experience AAS use in the most positive way. Other steroid compounds each come with a nice list of side effects that need to be managed. EQ for example. Why don't you tell me what all the potential sides are of EQ? I know what they are, but you obviously don't. So tell me.
i8bobOk, got your point, maybe its just to allow folks to get a good feel for test, the sides & managing e2 etc. which is fair.
Sides for EQ that I've gathered so far are:
1. Increased hunger in some people (which can be a positive or negative depending on goals)
2. Increased RBC (mine is low) which again can be a positive or neg.. good for endurance but a worry it it goes to high.
3. Anxiety at higher doses
4. very long half life so if sides hit it can be a while to get it out of the system
5. not good for athletes that get tested, stays in the system for a very long time
6. usual DHT sides at higher doses?
... that's all I have for now
And yes, I understand that DHT sides can be controlled with finasteride/dutasteride but they have their own issues. So with test you need an AI and DHT control but with EQ, not, to me just seems the less substances with potential sides the better.
That's good bro -
You can add:
Also, high hematocrit is so common, most users will donate blood on cycle to bring it down.
Test should be in every male cycle. Its the whole essence of the case. Regardless of what doses you choose, testosterone is part of our make up and structure.
i8bobum.. thanks, I mentioned that in the question
Your question lacks clarity...
