Back in the early 80s I was friends with a guy who was a Texas state power lifting champion for several years running. He had been on the juice for four years without a break. One day I saw a box of sex toys (including strap ons) that he forgot to put away. I was about to ask him if he had joined the other team when he told me he had not been able to get it up for a long time and this was the only way he could keep his girlfriend happy. TMI and Lesson Learned!

i have a buddy who stayed on test and mast for a year. he competed in the arnold classic. in the men's physique division. he didnt place well because he was bigger and more shredded then what they were looking for. lol....

manbearpig's picture

yeah man. hes prolly about 6'4 so in person he is a monster.

its VERY tempting to stay on, but even the possibility of becoming impotent scares the hell outta me, did your friend ever try coming off?

manbearpig's picture

yeah, he is off now. i think he has no intention of competing again soon. he doesn't like missing out on partying over the weekends. in a way he is trading one lifestyle for another. i understand where he is coming from though, cause he wont have the opportunity to party through college forever.

id choose bodybuilding and gear over partying any day, but to each his own...

same here. sometimes i think about whether or not im missing out on too much fun... then i just slam a protein shake. back to work... lol...
i wish i could socialize the same way i when i am sober as when i am drunk :/

Yeah, one of my brothers stayed ON for years (RIP) His insides were like soup and he died of kidney failure... Just to be clear ON is different than TRT

j0n's picture

RIP brother. not to dig into something uncomfortable, but when you say "years," how long we talkin? I think it may be a good way to deter anyone reading from running these types of long dosing

j0n's picture

no one wants to hear/say this, because we don't want newbs reading interpreting it as being ok, but I have more friends than not who have abused cycle length and stayed on for a year (or years) at a time and have bounced back after coming off. it's natural to think about and be tempted by.

but keep in mind there are also smokers who rip a pack a day for years and don't develop lung cancer... then there are others who die a miserable and painful death

it is risk vs reward... and you have to ask yourself if it is really worth it. good luck

People do run cycles all year round unfortunately they are people that don't what they are doing(not including blast and cruise). Not only will it completely screw up your hormone levels, their receptors become so diminished that the compounds have very little effect. Cycling not only give your body a break but it also clears your receptors so when you do your next cycle your body will react better and yield greater results.

Blast is when you are on a cycle, cruise is taking a low dose of test because you have low test levels due to age or steroid abuse and other medical reasons.

10000ngdl's picture

Dont even think about it unless your going pro.

10000ngdl's picture

Im sure there are people that have done it but I doubt they are going to tell you.

10000ngdl's picture

That tells me your planning to run a 12 month cycle. Why?

10000ngdl's picture

You didnt have to.

mjunkie's picture

lots of bodybuilders stay on year round, but i cant even imagine how hard it would be to get off and recover, but it is possible to recover after such a long cycle its just a big risk
