Cycle to help with back/neck pain?
ad
Hi All!
I am a Navy vet with a fucked up back and neck. I have been through countless epidurals, physical therapy, had needles hanging off of me in every spot you could imagine and more, and all any of this provided was some temp releif. so my pain has gotten worse since I got out about 10 years ago, while ive lost about 35, fromm 205 to 170 pounds. Im looking for a jump start to get back in shape. I have tried to go to the gym but my recovery time and extra pain is to much to take without assistance. after diggin around Ive decided to try an 8 week Enanthate cycle. Can anyone provide any should shouldnt dos? Thanks for the help!

wow, thanks for all the suggestions, i will definitely take them all to heart. I will fill in some stuff i left out. I got out and started dealing with my back issues in 2009 and have been since, I have degenerative disc desease and stenosis. My Dr has reccomended a regular work our regimine(also gave me the same advise as ddufrene got below in regards to letting pain guild the workout), and all though he wont reccomend Test he will monitor me at our already monthly visit. Ive mainly stick to pilates to keep the level of recovery pain( None basically ) low. I was perscribed percoset for 7 years, now i take suboxone daily for my pain. I did physical therapy amd accupuncture for about 3 years. The accu was temporary and the PT woulndt make a 90yo break a sweat.
My plan was to take 2cc a week of enanthate working out 3-4 times a week on a good diet which I already eat, adding a protein shake. Not looking for much more than maybe 10 pounds of gains, is that too much to expext for an 8 week cycle?
I GUARANTEE that lifting weights WILL help his injuries as long as he takes it easy in the beginning. I live my life by 5 words my ortho told me before I started my first regime 20+ years ago. "Let pain be your guide !" I should be getting my first test shot at the docs later today. I have rods and screws holding my lower back together. I have a plate and several screws holding my neck together. I have a spinal stimulator in my back that shoots electrical impulses into my neck and back. I have never felt better than the years I spent in the gym working out.
I can't wait to get back in the gym and start lifting again. Physical Therapy is a joke and I KNOW that Casey will agree with that. Doing your own therapy in the gym works wonders for inflamation and other problems we deal with. The key is to just start off small and condition your muscles to the point where you can lift heavier down the road.
In my case, testosterone is a medical necessity for me. It serves many benefits besides the strength and muscle building qualities it posesses. Casey should do bw to see where his test is at. If he is able to get on trt than more power to him. It will be a big benefit to him in MANY ways if he needs it. If his test levels are ok and he doesn't need trt, then so be it. Life goes on.
I guarantee if Casey asks his docs if it is ok to work out at the gym, his docs will tell him "That's great, just let pain be your guide".
Later ya'll
Try massage therapy, electro therapy or try eastern style therapy such as accupuncture etc i dont think lifting weights is going to help your injuries and cycling test or any drug is going to be detrimental to your health. You could try hgh on its own without lifting.
Hey Casey,
Look for my thread "My story... to cycle or not to cycle". Interesting read. You should take a step back and do as suggested.... get hormones checked. My test came in last week at "13". NOT a misprint !
I should have retest results tomorrow or wednesday via the urologist I went see friday. Opiates affect your test levels as do other meds such as anti-depressants. I'm on both. You may find that you can get on trt, take advantage of the strength and muscle building properties of it and bring your body back to a decent level with the right "diet and excercise". The test won't work magic for you, but the "diet and excercise will".
Unfortunately for me other issues have surfaced that required additional testing of my cortisol and prolactin levels. I WILL be going on trt "soon i hope", and as in my 30's, I expect the excercise "my OWN pt program" will prove very beneficial for my physical and mental well being. YOU can do the same bro !
note: Just remember your body has been to hell and back. Take it easy early on and condition your muscles to where they need to get to handle heavier weights later on.
I really recommend finding a sports doctor or a joints specialist and not doing a cycle all you are going to do is over work your joints from the sound of it I know sometimes the right way takes a long time and can be extremely frustrating but the last thing you want is even more pain because you went to hard to fast or in my opinion even worse shutting yourself down to not be able to workout because you are in extreme pain and you waste your money while having opposite results that you are looking for
My friend the test will give you a strength that your body will not be able to handle, severing your injury even more. Sounds like pain clinic is the route to take with your doctors lead. Continuing a slow physical therapy, patience and waiting sucks but if we don't wait know your body will force you to wait later and when the body takes over is usually too late. I truly want to thank you for your military service, Gods speed.
Cycle not worth it in your situation. Maybe have hormones checked via wellness clinic, anti aging doc, urologist, or endo and see if those are off. I agree with below, AAS will not help your pain as you describe it.
Brother if you can't do the work in the gym now, with out the pain that you describe, then u should get that figured out first!....steroids won't eliminate the type of pain issues I think you are talking about, if anything it will make it much worse! ...
You should have a strong muscle base, nutrition dialed in, workout and sleep schedules practiced and proven to obtain your goals, long before you add in any aas!...
This is probably not the answer you were looking for, but I would hold off on the test cycle. I know it is tough to battle through those pains, but a test cycle isn't going to make it any easier, unless of course you were diagnosed with low test. If anything, it may cause you to aggravate your injuries by getting stronger quicker than your body is ready for. I would battle through this and see what you can/cannot do and rebuild your base, and then consider a test cycle. You will be rewarded far more by waiting it out. Good luck with your recovery bro
Just going to mess yourself up even more. Strength building faster than what tendons/ligaments can handle. More stress on joints than normal leading to even more severe damage. Not a good scenario to be running a cycle if not in tip top shape already. Steroids are not to get you in shape. I don't see steroids being able to help your pain. You need something other than steroids for that.
DECA..... It has been found by many to help a lot with joint and back pain.
