+ 3 3 VITAMINES to lower prolactin while taking a progestin.

ad

Okay now, there are 3 vitamins that can be combined to reduce prolactin levels pretty efficiently. Everything written here was advice from a medical director who does take steroids himself. I've heard a whole lot about B6, but not about the active form of B6 (P5P). But when I found another two vitamins to stack with it to increase efficiency, I just had to share. So here they are. 100% legal, you can get them at a health and vitamin store, and they are as cheap as dirt.

Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine):

B6 will reduce prolactin levels, now it is not as effective as caber or prami but it is effective. Dosages of over 500mgs can have negative, and at times, permanent nerve damage if taken for an extended period of time. I would strongly advise you to take pyridoxal-5-phosphate, the active form of b6, and only while on cycle.

Dosing:
For B6 you are going to want to take 300 to 600mg per day in divided doses. You can divide it into 3 or 4 and take it throughout the day with a meals.

P5P (Active form of B6):

The active form of B6 is called Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate or you might find it in the supplement section (or on line) advertised as P5P. I would advise anyone who is taking B6 to go for the active form since the reason there is a drug toxicity is because the body can’t convert mega doses of B6 into the active P5P quick enough.

High doses of B6 taken for many months can cause nerve problems such as tingling in the fingers and numbness in the toes (peripheral neuropathy); B6 can also worsen sleep quality in some people and cause vivid dreams. But since the vitamin is water soluble there is no real danger for overdose and the side effects can be negated if you stop use for a day or two.

Dosing for P5P would be about 100 to 200mg daily, since it is the active form you don’t need as much and the side effects will be minimal if at all. I recommend that anyone taking any sort of steroid that will cause prolactin related side effects supplement the natural way with P5P to avoid having to go the pharmaceutical route unless needed

NOTE: ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS have caber or prami (along with adex, nolva, etc.) on hand no matter what you are taking.

Vitamin E:

Another great tool to lowering prolactin is Vitamin E, vitamin E is actually better for lowering prolactin than Vitamin B6 and combined they make a great pair to avoid needing caber or prami.

Dosing:
Most people will benefit from taking 300-400 IU of supplemental vitamin E per day. Vitamin E has a great range of safety and has been given in dosages as high as 3200 IU without causing problems.

Do note though, vitamin E can raise your blood pressure if you are susceptible to high blood pressure but most see it decline after a few weeks of supplementation. Also high doses of Vitamin E (anywhere from 700mg or more) can cause iron stores to deplete for people who have problems with low iron and Iron deficiency itself can cause increased levels of prolactin.

Zinc:
One last way I would like to talk about lowering prolactin is through the use of zinc. Zinc and B6 work well together as the effects from both are better than the effects from one or the other alone. Zinc isn’t the best for lowering prolactin and there have been several studies showing that if you do not have a deficiency it will not help.

Dosing:
Take 50 to 100 mg of zinc monomethionine, zinc gluconate or zinc citrate to increase the effectiveness of B6 and to correct a zinc deficiency that is keeping prolactin high.

So you can see that in this brief write up there are several lines of defense against high prolactin without having to resort to harsher chemicals that more often than not will not be needed unless you are very susceptible to prolactin side effects (lactating for example).I hope that we can put less chemicals into our body and help it do what it wants even when we are supplementing with steroids. Comments, additions, concerns are all welcome

I'll edit it, and put more stress on the use of p5p instead. There's a lot of sites that state p5p shows no signs for toxicity or permanent nerve damage. I'll also edit that these dosages should only be taken while on cycle. Other than that, what are your thoughts on the active form b6?

Really? So If you keep your estrogen at optimal levels, you won't have excess prolactin?

Very interesting! No disrespect but do you have any links to studies of these 3 reducing prolacting? I'd be very interested in reading this further! +1

Yeah I'll have to look it up, but I'll send you the link in a pm. It says pretty much the same things except he had studies in which each vitamin was used separately.
