Red blood count/iron
ad
What's up guys....just finished up a 16 week cycle and im starting pct next week. Got denied for blood donating because my iron hemoglobin levels were to high to donate....they told me to just talk to my physician about it so I did. Just got back from the doctors and she checked my blood pressure and pulse and everything was great. She knows my levels are high from testosterone and thinks my high rbc/iron will just drop as I pct for 4 months. She's making me get blood work tomorrow just incase but want to know if they will return to normal during this 17 week pct. thanks guys...and one thing is getting blood taken (getting 8 things tested) going to drop them a little as to donating blood?

It will go down on its own. No need to do anything dangerous like a self phlebotomy IMO. If its an issue your doc will write script for phlebotomy. My hemo was at 20 my previous cycle, and was denied as well. My doc told me to let it go down on its own and not stress about it. Besides, you only need to wait long enough for the hemo to get below the blood bank threshold. The one in my area is 19. Once below they will let you donate, so check again in a few weeks now that youre off.
Red cells have a 4 mounts life cycle, so it might take awhile to go down. What's your hemoglobin at now?
It takes months upon months for it to lower on its own. If she won't write you the script to donate, I'd just let out a pint of your own blood.
She is running labs - personally, I'd be pissed about that. Nothing wrong with labs but it doesn't fit your cycle timeline and chances are she's gone to run a gang of tests. Hopefully you already met your annual deductible. If not, I'd be even more pissed.
AnonDon't go promoting the razor blade to pint out that blood lol... seriously, taking out your own blood is dangerous brother unless you have the medical background needed. I donate platelets, not blood, but I do agree with you, doctor is making money...
