a lot of people think of progesterone in a negative manner. There is some broscience and misbelief that progesterone is a bad hormone. It's actually very good and has important roles in our body.

Johnny, This is interesting. I will definitely be doing more research on it. Can you tell me why, since my thyroid is low and has been for over 10 yrs, I just left it the way it was because it wasnt too bad, and every time I would take the synthroid or Armour(the only real accepted thyroid meds) at the lowest dosages, I would get wired like a speed freak or coke head. So i just stopped. But my thyroid level each yr now at age 54 is gradually going lower bit by bit each yr. Why wouldnt a doctor have me try this? Im going to see my endocrinologist this tuesday. She never wants to try anything that isnt her idea! So what could I tell her that might bend her arm? Mind you, this is a woman who refused to let me do saliva testing for my other glands even if I paid for them!

Also as an aside, Ive been on adex for 17 days now at .25 ED for 1st week then saw no result and now I went to .50 ED and still see or feel nothing. Yes I eat 150-160 gms of carbs. But its all healthy hi fiber cereal and fruits. In fact I was stuck in the house THE LAST 2 days and I was living on 6 eggs per day and a bowl of pasta.. Still saw nothing. Probably less than 1000 calories per day. My workouts suck, they are inconsistent. But I should have seen some of my bloat go away, no?

please read this entire thread!!! this isnt something you just try. taking this with normal progesterone level will cause a slew of other issues. this should only be persued for one of two reasons, your progesterone levels are very low and or those levels effect your fertility. there is only one treatment for men im aware in which progesterone is prescribed and that is for infertility. but as i said before please read the rest of this thread.

Thank you Wagner. I appreciate you clarifying this. I will leave it alone then! Maybe my best bet is HCG(as I was searching for that when I found your post). Its just that Im trying to find a supplier thats both reasonable in price and that I can trust and I havent found anyone on eroids list of suppliers. Thanx for the follow up!!!!!

Again, I appreciate the time and effort here, and I greatly appreciate the revision. I can live with this much as a compromise. It's just one of those sensitive topics that could too easily turn into the equivalent of putting a gun in a toddler's hands. Sometimes people literally have to be saved from themselves. .

Again, I'm not advocating this at all. I'd most highly recommend that you consider the risks and find another way to get the same outcome (benefit wise). But I also know that some people get their minds set on things... Always play it safe bro.

mwagner630's picture

Much better, thank you for the revision. I would love to see blood work follow up to see at which levels u were prior n post with changes in yourself following those bloods. Thank you. This approach is much more responsible.

I didn't read all this for two reasons

1) entirely too long for my phone screen
2) it seems to be promoting progesterone

Normal homeostasis requires certain levels of most every hormone. Most everything is considered healthy at moderate levels within the medical field, as well.

I can tell that either you put a lot of time into writing or copy/pasting this article. If you wrote this, I commend you for the effort. If you plagiarized it... Well, that's just fucking lazy and deserves zero credit. Either way, my issue here is that you're promoting a hormone that commonly becomes elevated with the use of certain compounds, and there are entirely too many newer guys here that can be swayed the wrong way with something like this.

Our bodies will naturally produce the amounts needed to reap the benefits of each hormone, unless there is a deficiency. Never promote the use of exogenous hormones like these. If there's an issue, consult a medical professional. Elevating progesterone, estrogen, etc beyond normal levels will cause more harm than good. You want good skin, vitamin D, sun light, lotions, and hgh (if you wanna get on a hormonal level). You want increased muscle mass, for God's sake, stick to what we preach here - test-fucking-osteroe!!!

Doss's picture

Thing about it is that it should only be used in the case of a deficiency bro. Only way to know if that exists is thru bloodwork. Highly recommend that you consult a doctor before you start playing that game. Way too much harm can come from this, and the risks come so quickly that they will outweigh the benefits, and we really don't want to see the wrong people doing this brother.

mwagner630's picture

X2 on this
This is exactly the point I tried to make over and over.

mwagner630's picture

so you plan to add progesterone? in which you will raise your natural levels? i think this article is taken to literally, these benefits to men are with in normal range. to get your progesterone out of "normal" range is not something you should be doing, let alone advocating for. do you know what happens when a mans progesterone is high? for starters, you will have ED, second, you will start to lactate, third, high progesterone increases estrogen production, fourth, it causes prostate inflamation. it also causes, sugar problems, fatigue, lethargy, joint aches, swelling, fatty breast tissue growth, fatty growth around abdomen, an increase in cardiac disease. progesterone is prescribed to men with low progesterone for the treatment of infertility issues. for everything you want to use it to treat, you may and are most likely going to cause and make worse. this is one of those post id like to see removed. someone will read it and never read the responses and think this is a "grand idea" when in fact its irresponsible and dangerous.

Doss's picture

Tell you what bud, since you're so dead set here, go find some case studies that document the benefits of elevated progesterone in men, as well as the negative side effects. Come back and post those links and that will put a halt to all this nonsense.

I'll put my entire stash on the table that you won't find what you're looking for. And comparing elevated test to progesterone is like apples to oranges. Not even the same thing.

Doss's picture

No sweat bro. I actually appreciate the time and effort.

mwagner630's picture

wow, ive never blasted someone on here. i wont start now. im in disbelief right now. your OP never says anything about the person being within normal range, it advocates for adding progesterone. not what the effects are if that said person is already withing normal range. it says nothing about pre use blood testing. only what the benefits are to adding it. do you get what i am saying???

if i were you i would seriously question which direction you go from here!!! your argument lacks any merit or proof. you have yet to back up this with any thing less than "its my opinion" unless you have low progesterone this whole thread is BS, dangerous, poor taste, and should be deleted

also do you know what would happen to someone if there estrogen is slightly elevated and they added progesterone???

Doss's picture

Bloodwork bro. Be sure to invest in preliminaries and periodic labs while doing this. Also be damn sure you know how to counteract negative sides as well as suppress the hormone in the event an issue arises. Know these things and have what's necessary in hand before you start this.

mwagner630's picture

I do agree with you! I was simply trying to enlighten you on the dark side of progesterone and also to point out that the benefits of adding progesterone are for men who experience naturally low progesterone. If I had low progesterone I'd be all over this but I don't. Many of my favorite compounds I run raise my progesterone. Good luck with your experiment I hope it works out for you honestly.

mwagner630's picture

sorry brother this isnt about opinion, what we do to our bodies on here with these compounds should never be about "opinion" but solid fact and science. this is wrong at the most fundamental science level there fore it should be removed. please read my post above.

are you fucking kidding me?? i have done nothing more than to try to have an open debate about the validity of this idea. you have done nothing but curtail it and offer nothing to support it. if there is sincere ignorance here, that is if you even know what ignorance means (lack of knowledge) than its on your part alone. you come off sincerely lacking the knowledge that is needed here. im willing to openly talk about this to understand what it is you are trying to accomplish, but apparently since im unwillingly to simply blindly agree with you, you are throwing a childish tantrum. get your facts straight, get some supporting evidence, argue your idea or shut the fuck up

mwagner630's picture

I think you need to spend about 20 mins reading my posts, this is my thing. i contribute most to AI, serms, and PCT. the field in which these hormones are dealt with. i am confident in knowledge, that it far exceeds most. it helps i have a bachelor degree in bio/chem also. you posted it not me. you opened the floor for debate. i am well aware of the benefits and risks of progesterone. shall i outline them AGAIN for you?? and the typical dose for progesterone replacement is 6-10mg a day for a man who has levels approximately in the range of .05-.15ng/ml normal depending on the hospital or lab is .27-2.9ng/ml these numbers are subjective based on the hospital, lab or doctors interpretation of your symptoms related to the hormone
