Testosterone for muscle wasting after surgery

ad

Okay, so I have been on the sidelines for about a month because of an injury. I have dropped 15 lbs already because I had to drop my calories because I can't work out. On top of that my orthopedic just checked my mri and said I have the worst herniated disk in my neck she has ever seen. Needless to say I have to have surgery like next week. I'm gonna be recovering for months and months so I'm gonna loose a lot of weight during this time. Especially since the procedure is through the front of my neck and it's gonna affect my voice and eating and drinking because of the pain. On top of that the meds I will be on will most likely make me nauseous so I will pretty much be on a liquid diet for a while. I'm estimating I will lose another 15-20 lbs easy. So my question is this: during my recovery time would it be beneficial to run some test to help preserve some muscle? Or just get skinny and drop to a super low body fat % and start all over again.

I recommend a good base of HGH.

Hgh definitely will help. But I have been reading about the healing properties of dbol and deca and eq and I'm most likely gonna run a dose of something after surgery I just don't know to what extent. Not immediately after surgery but after I'm off my meds and starting to become more activity.

Your talking to a man that feels like crap if his test level drops below 500. So I never let it drop much. Now you young bucks: Dont read this comment and get any stupid ideas. I absolutly killed my natural test two-years ago by accident and later (last year) I found eroids and got help. My kids are grown and I am looking for grandkids next and I am 48 years of age. The rest of you that do not fit the TRT profile be sure to cycle properly or you are going to screw yourself hard and you are not the only one that suffers the consequences - Think, wife, girl friend, kids. When you get to be my age you can have that shot of Prop with your coffee in the morning.

As for the healing properties of AAS - Sure, it certainly is real. The other bros are much more up to speed as to the proper doses.

Come into my new Micromedics thread also in steriod discussion
and ask your direct questions there please
I have an extensive answer for you !
And I'd like to show people how that thread is gonna work !
Basically it's an in depth review thread pertains to medicine and AAS use age and all sorts of individual problems as they arise for other eroid members to ask q and a as well!

Pm accepted and message sent. I'm in between cycles now and my test levels are on point. Only reason I thought about taking some test is because I read some studies that it can help heal me faster after surgery and help the bone fuse together and prevent more muscle wasting. I have to have acdf surgery and I might be recovering for a LONG time!

You are a very large man to begin with
6.8 and almost 250
Your calorie intake is most likely huge already just to maintain your normal size
I think diet and calories consumed will play the greatest role in your maintainance of muscle mass overall

Damn bro, I certainly can't answer your question but sorry to hear of your issues. I wish you the best of luck with your surgery and recovery!

Thanks for the responses everyone. I appreciate the well wishes. I realize that the most important thing is to pray for a good surgery and recovery. In a few months (God willing) I'll be back to normal. But I just have to take it easy and slowly work my way back up.

Muscle memory will mean you'll get back what you lose more quickly. I've been where you are, had a nasty bike accident 8 years ago which includef 3 herniated discs in my lower back. I picked up the weights again 5 years ago and I'm probably in the same shape now that I was when I had the accident.

Don't run gear during rehab. Try to eat as best you can, but concentrate on recovering.

Wish you a speedy recovery mate.
