+ 1 Question about these assholes at customs

What's the longest anyone has had a pack stay at "inbound into customs" when tracking, and still received it? Odds are, my shit is gone but I'm still hoping it's one of those long shots and shows up randomly. Anyone have any input? This is my first problem I've ever had with any shipment.

Well...I would not call them assholes - they are doing their job by stopping illegal entry of prohibited items. They also look for bombs, biological or chemical agents, etc. It is the asshole politicians who made the gear illegal you should be pissed at.
Scan the letter and send a copy of it to your source and, depending on their reship policy, they may send you a new package. Most likely you will need a PO Box or another address to send it to, yours is probably flagged for extra inspections right now.
MrEddyUpdate: just got my love letter! Damn it! Gonna contact QS today and see about a reship. When you guys have gotten these in he past, do you use the same address? I've seen people say change address and some who say it doesn't matter.
its up to you, if you have another address thats easy enough to use, go for it, if not make sure you explain to the sender it has to be discreet.
LOL you figure you wouldn't have to explain that to the sender , knowing it goes through customs.....

There is no explanation behind it, and its not just our community. If you do a google search regarding customs and held packages, just about every discussion forum from RC equipment, Ganja seeds, and stereo equipment....any hobby where things are shipped from overseas ask this exact question. The answers are universal in their inconsistencies. Sometimes lost, sometines seized, sometimes sitting for no reason. Even threads detailing calls to customs officials turn up no answers. Sometimes Chicagos customs are the worst, sometines LA. We are not alone.
Ive had a package from overseas sit in customs (NY) for over two months, i eventually just stopped looking at the tracker and then one day BOOM! it was in my mailbox... its not over til you receive that love letter letting you know to go fuck yourself
It's still there! They even sent me a thank you letter and I'm taking your package! It's been about a year now!

Had a package from an online pharmacy sit so long in customs the pharmacy contacted me saying due to the extended time they were reshipping at no cost assuming it was lost or confiscated. About 3 weeks later I get both packages delivered. Another time it took awhile and I get a nice letter in the mail. So really no way to tell.

AnonI had one in Chicago customs for over 2 months. I just gave up and stopped checking the tracker, then one day I checked the mail and there it was. Its a mess up there I think Chicago is notorious for holding up packages for a long time.

12 days for me. Customs in what city? If it's Chicago I would say the outlook is not so good. New York I would be more optimistic. It depends.
