Didn't know where to really post this.....ok I have a mild case of colitis my doc has me on as a col and 5mg of pre a day for the rest of my life....question is...is 5mg of pred a day enough to cause that much muscle loss? Due to pred making muscles catabolic

ONLY use it if its an absolute must!!! But yes it can wreck a physique if used too much for too long.
Prednisone sucks ass. Makes my hips and legs ache, gives me restless sleep, and water retention. I'd see what other options there are. Good luck.
U know what. I would ask a pharmacist about that and more than 1. Also, I would reach out to Catalyst on this, he may know.
Thanks for the advice dude..I asked my doc about this and he said it wouldn't effect muscle wasting "that much" ill rather take my chances on every natural anti inflammatory supplement than carry on with that..I'm going to clean my diet right out only natural foods fruit veg and meat nothing processed...1000mg fish oils a day for its anti inflammatory effects along side my asacol dose and some probiotics...in fact ill maybe boost my asacol dose by a few hundred milage ams because it's none toxic..anything is better than pred
Bro, DO NOT start treating yourself with homeopathic remedies. We all take a boatload of drugs on here and it drives me nuts when Rx solutions are absolutely necessary and people start seeing witch doctors for chronic aliments and even worse - what you are doing - self prescribing shit. Talk to Catalyst - he creates pharmaceutical products for a living. He has a PhD. I'm sure he can give you a learned opinion on what danger (if any) the amount of Prednisone you're prescribed might cause. Doctors know very little about drugs when compared with your local pharmacist. Most folk don't realize or understand this but the pharmacist has years more training on drugs and sides than a medical doctor does. I think people think their pharmacist just puts pills in bottles. LOL
