Need help with HRT!
ad
Taking a family member to the doctors soon and am fairly certain he will start HRT. He is in his 70s but still fairly active for his age. Just wanted some tips, tricks and info as I will be there with him ( getting my bloodwork done too). Any particular therapies or products to stay away from? ie: Testogel and so on. Any need for meds like AEs or HCG at low doses? I know there are several people that are on HRT so just wanted a little first hand advice.
Thanks in advance.

Well if he feels it's not enough I can always hit him with a shot of prop! LOL.
The bad thing about prop on old men is the peaks and valleys.
That would be the voice of experience ,....btw.
Talk about lack of quality of life.
Here is a link to some charts of Test levels by age group:
http://www.mens-hormonal-health.com/normal-testosterone-levels.html
70 y.o. should have an average # of 500, just remember the chart is an average and includes healthy and non healthy men. Also, the more Test he has, the longer he will live, barring lifestyle deaths, ie: bicycling, parachuting etc.
From my understanding gels are a pain to apply and messy. Also you have to be careful what and who you touch, it takes a long time to absorb the gel.
If you can get them to inject its the preferred option unless you have a needle phobia. It's the ester, amount and frequency you may struggle with. The way they do it can mean your levels will fluctuate and make you feel crappy.
If you're getting the tests done there are a few ways to ensure your levels are very low when they check them.
If you search for TRT testosterone advice I've seen some really good forums with people on TRT sharing knowledge and good advice.
Thats what I heard about the gel. I worked with a guy that was using it but not long enough to know how it treated him. One thing I liked about the gel is it was a daily dose, thought it would keep levels more stable that way. It REALLY has a funky smell to it though, not bad but not good either ya know.
Thanks.
