+ 1 How to open an Ampoule
Hey fellow bodybuilders
In the short time that I have become a part of the community my life has been changed, knowledge and gains have increased for that I'm grateful thanks Eroids. I just got some amps, first time and what a pain in the ass this suckers can be to get that precious oil out of them. Needless to say I totally crushed my first one.
When on digging to try to find out how to open them without having to wait on purchasing an opener. The amp is in my hand and I don't have the freaking patience to wait!! Lol
I found out the perfect method, Using the casing of a 3ml syringe and wrapping some paper towel or an alcohol swab around the ampoule to protect your hand and placing the casing over the amp flushed with the neck of it. This is the tricky part apply little pressure put your thumb right on the neck of syringe casing and snap. And it will be a clean break, below I posted a link to a video that will show you in better detail. It works I was able to get it on my first intent. Hope this helps I have heard of friends using a file., etc. whatever works for you then work it. This method is super simple and we all have a 3ml casing lol

Different manufacturer's amps break differently as well. Some have tendency to shatter, while others can be a bugger to pop. I have always used pen cap and paper towel, but would inevitably ruin a few here and there. Bloody fingers and wasted ml's of oil are a part of the learning curve.
used the pen cap yesterday and It was a success on my first intent. But thanks for pointing out the different types
I got my first amps a month or two back, and yes, I made a mess of the first two - I ended up pulling into Ace hardware and picking up a small rat tooth file. I do a quick score around the neck and it snaps clean with no fuss.
Additionally, since they are so damn handy for travel, I brought the file to my friends ship and cut of a half inch piece so I could toss it in my luggage for travel.
Also noticed on one of the amps, there is a mark on the top of the amp which I think indicates the direction to push against - only on that one product though.
Gonna try the wrapper for sure.

Bic pen cap is what I use. Neck fits perfect inside.

300 SavageIts easier then a bic pen top..its more controlled..Yo but i got skills player..Yes i have cracked a few but I have never lost the full amp.
Practice makes perfect. You do not need any special tools or scoring of the amp. You will break a couple, it is inevitable and part of the learning process.

If anyone still has trouble or doesn't trust themselves in trying any of the below mentioned methods, the site I use to get my pins and bariostatic water also sells a handy little tool that scores, snaps, and safely discards the top. As my experience is very limited, I've never personally tried this inexpensive little tool. But, if anyone would like to take a look or possibly order one, send me a FR and a message and I'll give you the site.
I have busted more amps trying to use an amp opener than with anything else. I have no clue why though. Had to go back to bic pen. Crushing primo amps with that opener was getting expensive.
Personally, I run around the base of the neck with a box cutter or knife, then place hand towel over neck and pops right off with ease! Different ones are easier / harder to open in my experience. I always use the hand towel as they've cracked on me before.
for a true rookie that I am I only broke one so far. The casing works but that bic pen fits perfectly so I will try that one
Score the amp and pop off with cap of a pen. Bic pen cap fits perfectly.
I never even score them lol. Always pops right off with the bic pen cap but i always cut the long piece of the cap off so it's just the cap
me either put that casing and pop it right off. but the fit of the bic is perfect
