Consulting A Doctor Before Starting A Cycle?

I decided to see a doctor to see if there was an alternative before getting some "assistance" for my workout.
The only problem I've run into is they require a through blood test to check testosterone, iron and a few other things.
All of which is not covered under my medical plan, thus costing out of pocket almost $1,000.
Even for just the testosterone check alone, it cost almost $300.
The medical plan says that hormone replacement therapy is not covered and they do not consider these people to be doctors as they say most are not M.D.'s.
So....
Now I am left with the decision of getting was suggested here.
Just wondering, has anyone else here gone this route and had the same end result?

dude just go to the local heath depo, ask for a blood test to check your test levels because you feel like shit, dont have any libo, energy , fatigue and then see, 1000$ that blows my mind.. good luck tho
You live in the states bro? I've consulted w/ a MD for my cruise. Consultation was roughly around $150, included labs and face to face. It is roughly $190 per month for 10ml test-c, AI & HCG. (No Insurance used) Current protocal is 200mg/wk of test-c. And btw my labs were normal (about mid range for my age 30s). I recently had follow up labs but I skewed them by taking half the dose of test the week prior so he wouldn't cut dosage (and I remained in normal range <1200). So now I have the ability to cut my dose, while still stock piling. If you do live in the states, I suggest looking for TRT therapy centers, and shopping around. The prices you quoted sounds outrageous. Now I have pharma grade gear for a safety net, but I still use UGL or EU/IR amps for blast cycles. Good luck!

I'm lucky to have any coverage at all in this state.
Also, when and if Obama's medical plan kicks in I am told by some HR people I'm friends with, my company and many others in this state will be dropping us.
I saw the screen at the clinic as the assistant put in the things the doctor listed on the form to get tested for.
Each thing was outrageous in price.
I thought it was only going to cost about $100 bucks.
I explained this to the doctor yesterday when I talked, that costs were a factor being I'm paying out of pocket for everything.
Now I have to go back and get refunded for the second consultation I didn't have yet of which he charged me $100 ahead of time.
At this point there is nothing he can do for me.
He told me straight out, for legal reasons he must have tests done before doing anything for me.
So I'm SOL.
Now I'll have to do for myself, through other channels.
Yeah you can either do the bloods your self or do a quick google search for TRT centers... Florida is chock full of 'em!! Keep searching for off network practices.
I'm actually happy my insurance isn't aware of my TRT... If my levels are ever abnormal they would be non the wiser, also a plus if you are considering life insurance. I like keeping my legit med records clean of this sort of stuff.

Only thing missing to be on the safe side is the PSA test, but you could always get your procto to do that one through your insurance.
According to the doctors lab paper, he wanted me tested for:
Total & Free Testosterone,
CBC, CMP, Iron, Ferritin,

Hell yeah man...no problem. It should be common knowledge around here that that is the place to go.
Turns out they too are charging an arm and a leg even just for the testosterone check.
I'll have to do what I must without a doctors help.
I am 42 years old. While HRT is not yet mainstream, I can see why someone your age (and mine) need a restoration of our testosterone level. If you are looking to simply increase your libido and general well being than you have some options. If you are looking to run dosages that will exceed "normal" levels, than that is something else all together. Do some research on HRT. You can no doubt find the same or similar medication your physician would have prescribed. But now you assume the role of doctor...so again, do your research. Good luck:)
