Cellulitis (skin infection) Problems!
So, for some reason, I continue to get cellulitis (skin infections) from injecting my gear into my quads. It started a while back with a particular source, then I changed sources and everything was going fine-then bam! I got it again. Of course I follow very strict disinfection procedures: cleaning the injection site and the vial tops with alcohol, using clean syringes/needles, etc. I can't figure it out..is it dirty batches I am getting? Here's exactly what I do when I inject:
1.Shower and scrub injection site with soap to clean area
2.Wipe injection site with alcohol pads
3.Take out gear and wipe tops with alcohol then set on table
4.Take out syringe from plastic, unscrew 23 gauge tip, screw on 18 gauge tip for extraction
5.Extract 1 ml. from each vial (equals 3 mls.) with same 18 gauge tip.
6.Unscrew 18 gauge tip and screw on 23 gauge tip.
7.Inject gear into quad injection site.
8.Wipe injection site with alcohol (new pads of course)
Also, a nurse told me that when I am extracting like 1 ml. of gear from the vial, I should infuse with 1 ml of air. So, before I extract, I infuse 1 ml. of air into each vial with syringe.
So, anyone got any idea why I keep getting infections? Any way around this? Could it just be a dirty batch?
