Who is YOUR favourite bodybuilder?

Curious to see everyone's choices. Personally for me it's Dorian Yates, his training style is my favourite one. Brutal, hard-core and works!

Roelly winklar was a freak if he had his gut in check he coulda won it all.in my opinion. But my favorite Markus ruhl dude had a 70 inch chest and 24 inch biceps and still looks good in his 50s he was training urs for a bit
Now that you mention Markus, there was this other dude named Marko Savolainen, his biceps were among the best in history. I don't know how he didn't win more shows with such an amazing shape and conditioning.
Short video, here's the link: https://youtu.be/U0BGQWe92Ow?feature=shared
@Izzy75 big lou is amazing!! While arnold only talked shit, Lou stepped back on stage as the biggest of his era at 315 shredded. That was inspiring af
He was indeed a true monster with amazing proportions.
Gregg Valentino

The momos! Haha
Dudes funny as fuck!
Lmaoooo... that dudes nuts. He had way too many gay jokes when he had his section on muscular development.
THE RAMBLIN FREAK!!! I used to read that shit in jail lol. My cell mate had a subscription to MD so he had a big ole stack of em plus the new one every month. Then years later I started seeing Gregg on YouTube and it took me a long time to realize it was the same dude
Lol.. i started reading it in the same place. I used to get them brought up every visit. I saw something on him in the early 2000s though idk if it was on hbo or something but it was a biography called the man who's arms exploded.
LMAO I watched that too when he overloaded them with synthol - What a Twat!!!
It showed him getting led out of his house in handcuffs when they found gear there too!!
Yeah he was moving juice. He owned a gym too. He was draining hematoma in his arms. You know he still denies using synthol to this day? Lmao... he had serious body dismorphia thinking his arms looked good like that.
Yeah your right Mikey I wander if his arms are gonna look like that forever I heard he's like 5 foot 2 n has little mans syndrome but hey Mike did you ever see Greg Valentino before the synthol.he wouldnt of been the best in the world but he was big as hell and definitely would have won a smaller show. Rich piana didn't go.as.far Greg was definitely bigger during his career but did you see rich before the seo arms and weird eyes he had hair and was big
People like that always make me laugh when there is categoric evidence against them that they did say or do something. I watched a cop show where this guy was denying killing his best friend in a car crash - totally denied ever being in the car after a night out and says he got a takeaway and went straight home. Next time the cops interrogate him he is there on camera, being shown evidence of him getting into the friends drivers side at a filling station about 5 minutes before he crashed the car. His coat fibres were also on the drivers seat belt as evidence - Yet STILL totally denies ever being in the car LMAO Typical narcissists and sociopaths who will deny EVERYTHING even when you have em backed into a corner with nowhere to run.
Well he says that he was I he ring like whole vials of gear into his arms so he admits they were filled with oil but that it wasn’t synthol, so idk I guess it would look the same and it doesn’t really matter what oil right? Actually he would’ve been better off with synthol cus that at least has lidocaine lol . At least I think it does?
Its funny cuz I would read ramblin freak every niw and again and think to myself " jesus christ, I cant make it through this word salad bullshit". And then I watched him on youtube and now love the guy.
Honestly I can’t remember if I enjoyed the column or not, I just remember I’d read every word of every magazine, and I remember he would always say crazy shit, but he’s definitely someone you need to see in video or in person compared to written word
Amazing symmetry
anvilI guess because they trained at the same gym as me although watching them daily and having access to them was unreal - Dennis James, Troy Alves, and then when Big Ramy came to stay with Dennis. Prolly doxing my location.
Troy Alves very underrated one of my favs.
He had some crazy definition and symmetry.
Yates yesss!! My favorite Def because of training also.
Oh i have to reply to my own post i forgot ........ Nasser El Sonbaty. Size and shape. levrone and flex wheeler. Paul dillet. Mike mattazaro.
Those were some of my favourites also from that era - When Nasser came along he quickly became my favourite. Chris Cormier was cool too. Remember Greg Kovacs??!
Oh Chris cormier forgot about him. He found that kid neck zilla. Yes he was that really big dude. I just saw something on you tube talking about the least genetically gifted bodybuilders. He was actually on it but more for saying how he was so big and still got some good shape to him. Like defying the odds type of thing.
Once Drexyl see's this post you will NEVER get him off it Lol
The uncrowned king. Levrone
best one
Levrone was unreal.

Man it’s hard to pick a legitimate favorite especially from the golden years!
Prime Jay Cutler is up there- he paved a new road and trained SMART! He is still retaining crazy mass for his age and can still workout HARD because he didn’t ego lift 800lbs and blow out his shit.
I don't really follow any bodybuilding anymore, but when I did back in the 90's it was often Dorians training methods that I liked. Anybody who lifted heavy and looked thick got my vote lol Nowadays the person I admire the most is John Haack, has been for a long time. The lifts he has achieved considering his bodyweight are on another planet - even when he had just jumped on steroids during his first 6 months no longer being natural and only running 300mg Test per week, he could still bench 500lb's x 3 and was barely 200lb's bodyweight. Thats just unreal shit!!!
John Haack is unreal. I love his deadlift videos where he just walks up to the bar and casually pulls 800 lbs or whatever. I watch him for motivation when going for a PR sometimes.
Its actually 900lb's Plus Baby!!! But yeh - looks like he is picking up his shopping bags LMAO & proper humble about it too, no acting like he is the shit or anything afterwards.
Yes! That’s the exact video I’m talking about. Just watched it again. He has an incredible physique as well, maybe not pro bodybuilder level but he’s really aesthetic for a powerlifter.
Based on aesthetics, I’d have to say Frank Zane with an honorable mention for Mike Mentzer. Zane had an incredible v-taper and perfect proportions for that classic look while Mentzer manager to look absolutely massive and thick despite only being like 5’6” or something.
For the current guys, I kinda hate to admit this but cbum has consistently looked the best imo for at least the past five years. Again, great proportionality and conditioning.
In terms of training I’d have to agree with you on Dorian Yates but I actually like a lot of the stuff that is at least attributed to Arnold as well. I also like to throw in a few six week Mentzer-style HIT cycles when I’m off cycle just to give my tendons some time to super-compensate and I always come back to higher volume feeling fresh and strong.
Just due to his sheer height and size I have always been a fan of Lou Ferrigno. That’s the one dude that gives me hope as a tall bodybuilder lol
When he came back in'91 his shit was insane made people wonder how many sandows he would've had if he didn't take the hulk role.
