+ 1 Classic Physique BB Question

ad

My question revolves around competing in the Classic Physique BB Division.

Division A
5ft4in - 5ft7in = 155lbs to 170lbs

Division B
5ft8in - 5ft10in = 177lbs to 192lbs

Division C
5ft10in and over = 200lbs to 270lbs

**I condensed the ranges above for discussion purposes...

I am 5'9" & currently 200lbs, my competing weight should be 185lbs - 192lbs.
For arguments sake, how much should I weigh "off-season"?...
where should I be when I'm "bulked"?...
Because, assume I bulk to 225lbs... that's gonna be bitch to suck down to 185-192 range

If you have experience competing, I guess I'm asking what should be my goal day-to-day weight... so that if/when I am ready to compete I can make weight without having to go to extreme unhealthy measures.

Caesar, 20 pounds above your contest weight...max. I might even say excluding dropping your water no later than 17 hours before pre-judging.

Check out Danny Hester online. Mr. Olympia classic. Look at his progression before he stepped on stage. Good luck brother.

Cheers mate!

I do classic.
I'm actually weeks out from my next show
I fall into the division B
In my off season I weight in about 20 lbs more then when I'm stage ready. A must for me is to stay no higher then 9% body fat - 10% if I decide to push it.

FR sent. Thanks for the insight brother! That's in the range I was estimating... I need some time to chisel it out, but at least I have some numbers/goals to keep me focused.

No problem. Wish you the best of luck and for you to win when you finally set a date on a show.

I would suggest start cutting now but slowly. That way to can learn from your body and don't lose much muscle mass. Then when you get to 8-9% you can set up a date and take your prep from there

I would try not to have to lose more than 20-25 lbs. If you are putting on more weight than that then it should be muscle and it will be time to graduate from classic into BB.

OK, I was thinking in the range of 15-20lbs... so my calculations weren't too far off. Thanks.

225 to 185 would be a bitch for you to strip off. Bulk but don't get sloppy. I would assume another 25lbs and you would look sloppy. Post up a pic where your at now.

I can post a pic... but I know I'm far off, at least 18mos-24mos. out. I have a decent base, but certainly need more separation & thickness. I was mostly curious about the weight I should shoot for...
