Help! skin issues

ad

So Idk if its a rash or what to really call it, but in the past week or so I've developed a few different skin issues and now im starting to think they are all related. idk if it has anything to do with my gear use but I'm on mast and test and I've had almost no acne issues with gear, besides a small number of black heads and shit on shoulders and back. I have this very painful and red area on my chest, and another on the inside of my arm. they are super painful especially to the touch. They both look different, but the pain is the same, and its like something ive never felt before, its almost is like the pain from a bad burn or something. also in my armpit the skin is all raw and I've had that happen before with certain deodorant, so I figured that's what that was from, and i thought maybe the chest was a bunch of ingrown hairs but I think thats highly unlikely because of how large the area is. but now that i have all three going on idk what it is. anyone recognize these things and know what it could be? Also none of my gear use has changed in over a month and this started like a week ago at most, and I can't really think of anything that's changed at all, that could effect this.

Checking in to see how you’re doing? Hopefully not been too crap for you.

Rosschestzip's picture

Hey sorry for the late reply. Thanks for checking in on me man, I'm fine now and it didn't get too much worse I just had this searing pain across my back, I didn't even know it was had spread there, but couldn't sleep one night and it was just burning, so i checked it out and sure enough it had spread there. so now across my shoulder blade and trap it's like all purple, looks almost like burst blood vessels or something, just hope it's not scarred like that, but all is good now, Thanks man!

How long did all this last in the end mate?

Honestly I don’t even remember but I don’t think it was terribly long. When around the time of this post I had seen a doc and the doc had said it was already at its worst and was on its way out, and she was right. Still have purple splotches on my back, from it too

Glad you’re on the mend. If you’re worried about scarring, “bio oil” is a good plan. Assume you’ll have that over there?

Rosschestzip's picture

So doctor said its shingles, and since its been a few days the medicine probably wont do much but its also probably as bad has its gunna get. she also said any cream wont help. she prescribed the pills even tho she said they might not help. I hope she was right about it not getting worse but i feel like she didn't really know what she's taking about but well see.

Ugh, that sucks, Bro! Get well soon.

Diesel77's picture

Told you ...lol..I speak on what I know and only what I know. Sucks to hear this though man, it is not pleasant experience, especially since you have multiple places on your body with the spots. I only had one and it was by my rib cage area a very small size spot but it hurt like hell. It will blister up and pop eventually and thats when real pain comes in. I was fortunate enough to not experience any pain after the spots subsided and hope the same for you. The scar it leaves is knarly...similar to acne pock marks.

Mac12769's picture

Damn bro, sorry I was right when I looked at it. My ex-wife had it, and that looked spot on, plus your partner history.
I'm assuming she prescribed an antiviral. Has to run its course. I already had chicken pox.

I thought that armpit rash pic looked a bit more suspicious.

Glad you got it checked. Most importantly get well soon fella.

Rosschestzip's picture

Ya once I trimmed my armpit hair I was like "shit that's shingles for sure" But just gotta wait it out and hope it doesnt get worse, Thanks bro

Let me try to help you out with your deodorant issue. Check the ingredients in the deodorant. Look for "sodium stearate" as this is probably your problem. I can use deodorants with this ingredient probably a day or two and be ok but anything more and my armpits become very raw. I quit buying deodorant with this and haven't had an issue in years. Hope this helps and good luck

Rosschestzip's picture

Ya its weird I've gotten it like 10 years ago and then like 2 years ago and now this so idk if that was in the deodorant then. But it is in this deodorant, thank for the tip man

Did you switch laundry detergent? Do you use Tide??? That’s exactly what happens to me from Tide detergent. I can’t go near that shit.

JEX30Sex's picture

I got something similar from those damn Gain Flings. He said he hasn't changed anything like that but started taking Animal Pak Vits.

JakeKO's picture

Oh wow, vitamins are a whole other thing. They can really fuck you around for sure. No one is monitoring that shit. I stick to my Centrum Silver, and avoid it sometimes for the weird way it can make me feel sometimes. Hypes me up too much sometimes. Not sure why. Think it’s when I mix it with coffee

JEX30Sex's picture

Hmmm. Sounds like a pretty good pre if you think about it.

JEX30Sex's picture

Looks like you got it in areas that have been shaved. Try replacing your razor and getting an anti fungal cream like for ringworm. If you have any unfinished ant-biotic scripts lying around popping some for a few days may be beneficial until you can get an appt with a Dermatologist. I hope this clears up for you man. Rashes in the pits suck ass.

Rosschestzip's picture

Bro they definitely shouldn't be messed with. me my girl and 2 kids all got strep and were given antibiotics, me and one son didn't take them. my girl and other kid took them but didnt finish the regiment, of the next two months they both got strep again, and ear infections on and off. all types of shit and me and other kid were fine. it definitely messed their immune systems up

Might be shingles ...if so it will get worse in appearance and pain level as the days/week progresses. How long has it been bothering you for now?

Monitor it's size and appearance and go see Dr if it worsens. Wish you well bro

Rosschestzip's picture

like maybe a weekfor my chest, but my arm just started like yesterday and this morning. my girl had shingles when she was like 16, which is super rare i guess. but she said it was insanely painful. ill have to ask her if this is what it looked like

Diesel77's picture

starts off looking like that, then progresses to a cluster of painful pimples that bursts open ...very painful bro. You should know within a few more days if it's shingles cause the pain is like no other (deep nerve pain) and even lingers on long after the shingles goes away (for some, while others are fortunate and don't experience any pain after

Rosschestzip's picture

Ya she said it was unreal, and had nerve damage/pain for years that eventually stopped. she didnt know what was going on or that it spreads really easy so she had touched it all over so she had it like on her ear, her neck, and basically like everywhere. I guess the shits pretty awful. Hope i don't have it

Mac12769's picture

I hope not brother. Shingles is not contagious, but it is spreadable when blisters rupture, wherever they are. If you have not had chickenpox yet, then you can contract it by contact. Antivirals can shorten the outbreak.

Rosschestzip's picture

I think it is shingles, shits super painful and there's not even blisters yet. I have a crazy good immune system, Ive never had an allergic reaction in my life, besides a little irritation from a weird deodorant. like I can't even get poison ivy if I rub it on my skin. so, I think its most likely the shingles and not some reaction. Gunna have to go to the walk in or something and get it checked out. Thanks for all the info guys

Agreed, However, as I state below, at a minimum call and talk to a health provider, they'll better be able to ask the right questions and advise accordingly. Better than relying on the "expertise" of a bunch of meat heads hanging out on a steroid review site. (I mean that in the kindest of ways)

I'd err on the side of caution. Shingles can cause too much damage if left untreated.

Greg's picture

You do not want to wait to see what happens next. If you think it's shingles get to the ER right now. At least call the doc or hospital and let them advise you what to do.

I was working in the yard and got a burn on my forehead; I thought it was a mild sunburn and ignored it. by day 2 my eye was all red like I had pink eye. "Great, insult added to injury, and I had a flight to catch." By day 3 I couldn't really see out of my eye and was planning to see a doctor in the morning. Then a searing pain like nothing I ever felt dropped me to my knees in tears. I was in the ER within the hour.

The drugs they put you on, GABATRON needs about 2 weeks to be fully effective. in the interim, even with Oxycodone, I would have flashes of pain that literally dropped me to the floor in tears. Do that in front of your wife, kids, friends, and co-workers... defiantly a moment that humbles you.

It was nine months before I could see relatively normal again. It's going on what? 3 years now and I still have nerve damage in my brow and forehead.

The sooner you get on the shingle antiviral meds the less prolonged nerve damage you'll suffer.

ALL OF YOU WHO ARE SUSEPTIBLE FOR SHINGLES NEED TO GET THE VACCENE. THIS SHIT'S REAL, MORE REAL THAN COVID.

Diesel77's picture

^^THIS^^

The pain is REAL. Nerve pain too so narcotic pain meds didn't help much at all. Crazy. I can absolutely relate Greg. I was very fortunate and had no pain once the spots/blisters subsided, but memorable to say the least.

Rosschestzip's picture

I just added a new pic to the post so you see the worst one. I didn't know it was that serious, fuck man. thanks for the info, shits already super fucking painful and its not even the blisters yet.

@Greg will probably be able to advise on this as I know he had it a while back.

Just throwing this out there. Did you have the COVID vaccine. The vaccine has been really throwing people's immune systems off to the poiint they are seeing symptoms of autoimmune diseases like lupus, psoriasis, etc. My wife is 42 y/o and never had any symptoms of ANY autoimmune disease. She got 2 shots of the vaccine and like a month later she start getting this really uncomfortable rash. Went to Dermatologist and they tested the skin samples and came back as lupus cells....

Greg's picture

I got shingles about a week after my second covid vaccine shot. I truly feel that it weakened my immune system to allow the shingles outbreak. Chicken pox, (varicella zoster virus) is a herpes type virus that lays dormant and can resurface as shingles decades later.

Rosschestzip's picture

No im vaccine free. but funny you say that, my girls step father actually got shingles from the covid vaccine. and then they offered him the shingles vaccine lol. like i think the once you have the illness its a little late lol.

In a promo × 1
Greg's picture

That's not true. Getting the shingles vaccine can boost your immune system to be better prepared to fight any future outbreak. I got one but made sure I had the antiviral meds on had in case I felt like I was having a flare-up. Like herpies, shingles never goes away.

Rosschestzip's picture

Really? i thought it was one and done and you could never get it again. They probably should've told him that, when he said no to the vaccine cus he thought he was good. but your right it is a herpes virus so that would make sense that it can flair up.

Mac12769's picture

....another possibility as well. I've read up on that huge issue too. He just needs to see a DR and get it diagnosed and quit guessing.

ONESICK's picture

A few years back I had this crazy rash out of nowhere. For weeks I couldn't figure it out. Then one day I realized my wife changed to scented trash bags. I noticed after taking trash out one day my hands got really itchy. I stopped using them and the rash went away. Sometimes it's something small like that.
