Amlodipine 5mg daily for me, half life is 30-50 hours. Timing doesn’t matter, just make sure you take it daily. But be careful, BP meds are to be respected. If you’re 130/85 you probably do not need it and it could cause more problems than benefits.
Lift4Gift1987I am currently on Telmisartan 80mg daily not only for blood pressure but also for the other health benefits it has, highly recommended for any steroid user, cardioprotective and well studied.
I take 2 BP meds. Lisinopril and Metoprolol. The Metoprolol is twice a day, so I take one dose with the Lisinopril in the morning and the second dose in the evening. I too have read the same thing about taking it at night.
When i tried, i took at night.
And speaking of heart health, telmisartan supposedly helps with left ventricular hypertrophy. How strong their properties are i dont know, but better than nothing, might want to check it out if you plan to use bp meds.
Listen to your doctor,if he says morning then take it morning
Living4ThePumpIn my opinion as long as dosing frequency is adequate, i.e. once daily with a drug that has 24h half life, there shouldn't be much of a difference. Try both methods and see which one works better for you. Things like nebivolol that decrease heart rate are nice to take pre bed to lower heart rate during the night. I take my telmisartan in the middle of the night when waking up to pee alongside my thyroid meds away from food.
