boost your thyroid
ad
Hello everyone !
I come to you for information,
I have often had my thyroid checked due to fatigue and rapid weight gain. my tsh levels are quite high between 3.30 and 4.50.
it was explained to me that by taking iodine I could perhaps lower my Tsh level and therefore help me regulate my weight gain, I did some research, but apart from supplements or finding a source of iodine.
Is enough iodine to regulate my thyroid? and how much should I take per day and for how long?
thanks in advance ! --

Little risk to taking a few drops of Lugol's iodine a week. Doc might also suggest 50-100 ug L-thyroxine daily as well.
Is your thyroid disorder pituitary or antibody mediated? There's a big difference in how you should diet if it's AB.
Selenium, like iodine also plays a factor in thyroid function. Might want to get tests done for both of those and any other trace minerals and see if they're low.
I had my hypophysis checked with an MRI by my doctor, there was nothing abnormal.
Same for the thyroid he had me check the antibodies, still nothing.
Just a high TSH
That's odd. Check out my forum post you may find some info useful.

The thyroid is such a crucial gland & affects virtually every part of your body function. That being said, the recommended daily dose is something like 150 mcg, which is criminally low. Humans used to get far more iodine naturally from produce before till farming & single crop farms - which have stripped the soil of so many prime nutrients. I take 25 mg of iodine a day, as iodine not only regulates the thyroid, but also binds to heavy metals, assists in calcium uptake (bones, teeth, etc.), helps protect eyes & skin from uv radiation, has significant anti-cancer properties, can help relieve depression & much more. Tsh is produced in the pituitary gland, which then signals the thyroid to produce thyroid hormones. I’m sure the Dr. knows what he’s doing, but I wonder if there is a way to stimulate natural tsh production.

Here’s an article I sent my mother. She has hyperthyroid syndrome which makes her go into a-fibrillation. In some cases you have to consume low iodine so you have to consult with an endo before you commit to a type of thyroid diet.
My mother has the same issue, you should look into iodine foods but it’s best to speak to an endocrinologist in which type of diet you should follow in accordance to your levels. I would start there before jumping into iodine pills because foods and herbs have tremendous impact on our physiology.
Have you seen a proper doctor for your issue?
What did he say..
Yes, my doctor put me on L-Thyroxine for 2 months and then stopped the treatment. When rates fell Since then I have had it checked again at 3.50 or 4.00 I saw a second doctor who told me that treatment was not necessary.
I second this, playing with the thyroid is a bad idea without medical supervision
