+ 27 An Idiots guide to: Pfizer’s GENOTROPIN GOQUICK 12 36 IU pen

ad

A Three Step Guide to success:

1) Read the instructions pages 26 through 33 thoroughly first: http://www.pfizer.ca/en/our_products/products/patient_infosheet/334
2) Watch these videos: http://vimeo.com/89640470 || http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yy6IgkosdRI
3) REREAD the instructions on pages 26 through 33.

Rookie mistake number 1: Mixed the chamber without attaching the needle first. Result is to compress the air in the chamber –that’s right, pressure.
Rookie mistake number 2: Had the pen on its side while inserting the needle –you guessed it, pressure expels the liquid.

I quickly up righted the needle preventing a complete disaster. This is where I stopped and REREAD the instructions.

Rookie mistake number 3: I started playing with the gray dial before I was finished with the black dial. Once you start turning the gray dial you can’t reset the black one –or turn back the gray one.

Here is where I stopped and reread the instructions.

Rookie mistake number 4: I did not wait a full 5 seconds during injection. When pulling out the needle a few drops of liquid still were coming out. I suspect there is not nearly as much pressure behind the plunger as I use when using a syringe. I would recommend waiting as much as 10 seconds before pulling the needle out.

Questions I frequently asked myself:

Can you remove the cartridge? NO
What needles can I use? BD Ultra-Fine Pen Needles.
How many mg is an IU? 12 mg / 36 IU’s = .33 mg per IU

Over all though, using the pen is hands down quicker and easier than setting up a syringe.

probably being stupid but ill ask anyway ha , my pen has .6 then a line with no number then .9 i wanted 2 iu so set to line in middle of 6-9 how many iu does this make please , thanks

I just wanted to say thank you for posting this it allowed me to successfully set up and operate the pen step by step. I've read horror stories of people messing up with these and basically ruin all 36 or 16 iu.

this is a great post
got some genos on the way and this will make everything much easier!

My guy has been trying to push these pins on me,I'm just a little tight on money,so I wanted to know what a fair street price was for the 32 iu pins

TheHulk702's picture

nice post, can i use the same needle for many times or should i use a new one every time i pin?

kevin77's picture

You definitely need to use one per injection. I just bought a box of them on amazon for a very reasonable price. You can also get them at your local CVS but they are about a third more expensive there.

Lilbear's picture

Replace them. Not a good idea to re-use for a couple of reasons like infection or the needle dolling after the first pin (scars) etc

Thanks for this post! I Want to order a 12mg/36iu pen. Do you know if it would come with the needles? Or do I need to order them separately? Thx in advanced

This video really should be added to the instructions. http://vimeo.com/89640470

Good find, done.

Ok, so I have a 12mg Genotropin pen, and I mixed the solution. It says it is 36iu's. I filled only 6 insulin pens with 2iu's, and it's gone. Kind of confused how it is 36iu's. Any help?

If your syringe divides 1 mil into 100 units then what I've explained below might be the answer you are looking for.

If you want to divide 1 mil into 36 IU doses, it would be .36 of a tick on your syringe for 1 IU of HGH.
So, when you say you've filled a pin with 2 IU's -if you mean the ticks, or marks, on the syringe you've actually filled the pin with 5.555 IU's of HGH

36 IU's divided by 5.555 = 6.48 pins

Hi again Greg , so I just finished up another pen, got a slin pin and drew up the rest that was left behind , on my pin I am upto the first big line number 1 on the pin , 10 small lines , that works out as 3.5iu of hgh right ? Shocking the amount of waste that would be

Thank you! How about for the 16iu pen? Sorry, having a difficult time with this. Thanks for the help.

they sell just cartridges though so cant u put them in a pen?

also when u think you are done you may not be. use a slin and pull more out. i got .3mg out

Greg's picture

The "Go Quick" pens do not have removable cartridge.

True, you can get a few more drops out with a slin when you can no longer dial a dose. usually not as much as .3mg -never keeps me from trying though.

U can't just draw it straight from the cartridge with slin pins? I watched a video on the go quick pen and it looks the same as Norditropin where u can just stick a slin pin in there and draw.. ?

Greg's picture

The cartridge is built into the pen.
It is not evident by looking at it how to mix it. And, it is easy to overlook the pressure that can be created within the cartridge.
You can draw from it but why? Once you figure it out, the pen is so much easier and quicker. A bulk pack of pen needles are cheaper too.

I'm speaking from first hand experience - take it or leave it.

How much do you pin ed and how were the results bro?

Greg's picture

started with 2iu for 2 weeks then upped it to 4iu
Felt better, look better, a bit leaner and a little more definition.

Honestly, at least at that dose, I wouldn't use it to get big. Unless you're using it more for the health benefits, or are a Pro. Adding hgh to the cycle may not be worth the expense.

At my age 4 IU's for my want's and needs was sufficient. For someone younger a higher dose maybe needed which would make the cost/benefit ratio not worth it unless you are a Pro.
