In 2 weeks I'll have access to an open lab

ad

For one of my chemistry labs I'm going to have an open lab which means I'll pretty much be able to use some really really expensive equipment to do tests to figure out compounds.

What this means is that I can use this time to sneak in a few tests of my own.

I'll have access to high end equipment which will let me do mass spectroscopy, Proton NMR, C-13 NMR, UV spectra, and IR spectra.

Now in my own interest I've decided to run a few tests of my own. I have 2mg of IGF-1 I bought recently and I'm willing to part with a mg of it to do some research.

I was thinking I'd break the bottle and split it into three doses two of which I'd reconstitute next week. One being with AA and the other being with Bac water. The third I'd reconstitute prior to going to the lab.

Since determining if the substance really is IGF-1 would be hella hard for me (since not only could there be other organic compounds present, but also just determining the compound was IGF-1 would be crazy difficult) I plan on just comparing the two I reconstituted a week prior to the one I would have just reconstituted.

This would effectively tell me the rate of decomposition.

Personally I've never thought that the whole AA helps keep IGF-1 from breaking down. Sounded like a bunch of bro science to me. This is my way of finding out.

I also have GHRP-6 and CJC-1295. I might be able to determine if the GHRP-6 is legit, but I kinda don't want to waste it and I don't really care that much.

Anyway I figured I'd ask if there were any other things someone could think of doing in terms of experiments. I'd really only be able to compare optical clarity, and could compare molar mass to how the mass spectrometer splits the substances.

I only have IGF-1, CJC, and GHRP-6. If you can think of any other tests I could do holler.

I have 2 weeks.

This is really only for me, so I'm not going to bother putting up sheets and sheets of data in the labs section as that might possibly get me expelled if they somehow see it. I'm willing to share my results in the form of rough data if you guys want though.

your a lucky fucker to have access to those machines. i used to have access to them, but that was before i needed to know what i was fuckin with.

Just a thought here. Why not suggest to your chem professor to do a research study on the IGF-1? I have no idea where you are attending and I really don't care. I do know that in the world of academia the whole addage of "Publish or Perish" holds true. If you can take a proposal to him / her what is convincing then they could get you the supplies you need to do the work. Now wheather you get extra credit or an actual grade for the project I think it would go a long way toward your education and more importantly understanding of analytical techniques. IGF-1 as well as many other peptides are available thru sigma I checked and IGF-1 at a 97% purity is 202$ for 50ug. Yes expensive but then you could actually standardize the instrument and be able to, and this is the important part, identify the compound of interest. That way you could produce data that are conculsive as to the degradation difference between acetic acid and BW. Now to do the actual testing you can use either SDS-PAGE gel or a better option for the organic lab is HPLC if they have it. As to me I personally have a BS in cellular and molecular biology and an MS in biochemistry and am currently a lab manager for a priviate testing analytical laboratory so I think I would be able to read, understand and analyze your data. So when you make remarks about no one being able to understand your results you might want to think before you say that. I know many highly educated as well as very experienced AAS users although I don't know any that are on this forum or if they are they like me try to stay in the backgroud most of the time. Just my .02

i wish i was able to fuckin watch season 5 somewhere. ive watched all of the seasons on netflix and season 5 just ended. and of course AMC will not have it available to watch on their website since dish network does not carry AMC, so they would be losing money by letting those who dont get amc thru a tv provider to watch in on their site. ive tried youtube, but they charge 2.99 an episode or 13-20 bucks for the season. maybe some of you know a bootleg site that has it available lol.

Dude I'm dying to watch season 5. Just watched all of season 1-4 in four days last week. Now I'm like fucked.

I thought season 4 was the end of the series? it sure seemed like it was

IGF-1 etc are proteins, this is more the territory of a biochemist not for a chem lab, but MALDI mass spec would be prob your best option

Carbon/proton nmr will give little detail for identifcation as proteins are too large/complex

why wouldnt you just block out there info and show us? that's selfish
