TRT One Year Anniversary
Next month marks one year that I've been on trt. I have to say thanks to everyon that informed me of what to expect the doctor to suggest as a plan for therapy. Also, you eroiders prepared me for reasons not to except his plan and suggest injections over gels. It couldn't have went any better on that initial visit. After he seen I rather do injections, he didn't try and talk me out of it but rather asked me if I wanted to come in or give my own.
I feel a lot better than I did a year ago. I have since increased my dosage from 100mg test cyp to 150-200mg a week. However, my yearly visit is coming up and so I went back to 100mg about a month ago. Man, do I feel a change. I'm having trouble sleeping again and my motivation is almost not there. My libido is slowly slipping.
Now, I could of kept my 150-200mg dosage and my doctor probably wouldn't have said a word if my levels where high. But, I don't want him thinking that I'm abusing or taking advantage of my situation. Also, I'm hoping he increases my dosage. Either way, I only have another month then It's back to cruising/blasting as usual.
Anyway, again I want to thank everyone who has shared their knowledge and experiences with me. Peace!

Did you take any estrogen blocker while on your TRT..? If so, what were your levels and what did you take..?
I did not take an AI while cruising and have not checked my estrogen levels. I did have it checked during my last cycle and it was 25 or so, I think. I did post a picture of the lab result http://www.eroids.com/pics/blood-results
I'd be very interested to hear your personal experiences from being on TRT, from your feelings, changes in mood, how you managed to cope with biweekly injections for a year and any other bits of information which you may feel necessary to note down so that people considering going on TRT can have a first hand viewpoint.
If there was one thing that I learned from being on trt for a year: its patience. Trt is not a magical therapy that cures all overnight. It takes time. I notice that as every day, week and month goes by, I feel better and better. For me, it took all of my symptoms: poor sleep, lack of concentration, libido etc...and made them better.
For example, I used to need to lay in bed for at least 12 hours everyday in order to have enough energy to get by. Now, or should I say, up until a few weeks ago, I would get between 5-8 hours a night and felt really good. I was getting more rem sleep as opposed to little or none at all.
Now, if you read my intial post you will understand why I said, up until a few weeks ago. I understand now that trt requires a life-long commitment, but one that yields great results and only gets better with time. If you are disciplined enough then giving your own shots is the way to go. It will save you both time and money.
As far as frequency, I've done both one a week and twice a week injections. My suggestion is, if you don't mind needles, then twice a week is best. You should notice more stable test levels as opposed to once per week injections.
One final note, you may have to increase your dosage from what the doctor prescribes, however, do it slowly and have some patience. You and only you will know what is a good dose. Be smart about it and ask questions.
I appreciate your detailed response H-J, definitely put thing in perspective for me. i'm not currently looking into TRT at this point in time, however its a consideration I have for when I get older. Many thanks again.
If u don't mind me asking, what were your test levels prior to TRT?
I don't remember exactly, but I believe levels have to be less than 300ng (or however It's measured) to be considered hypogonadism. My level was in the 250 ng range. Again, I'm not 100% sure if these numbers are correct but they are close.
