+ 1 Subq for TRT

ad

I have been reading up on Subq test injections using a 25 guage 5/8 needle.

Pros seems to be
Less or no pip
Easier injection

Cons
Multiple shots vs one weekly.

Anyone doing Subq TRT injections. If so what's your experience and what accessories are you using.

So, I have an endo specialist who prescribes SubQ injections (even though I don't always inject subQ).
My transgender son has a different endo specialist who prescribes him SubQ injections.

Are you saying I should listen to Bro Science over these two specialists? One of which is nationally renowned?

I'm not a big fan of Subq oil injections. Possibility of skin irritation and perhaps not as good absorption. But that's just me.

I tried once with only 250/wk. One shot 125mg but the site swole up so never tried again. But like Greg said it was ugl.

Greg is 100% right. I’ve used subq for TRT with good results. I did .5ml (100mg) twice a week with test c. Personally I use 28g 1in 1cc insulin/allergy syringes.

Not recommended for UGL products.
Not recommended for injections over 1cc
your con is BS, one weekly shot is doable.
No noticeable difference in effectiveness between SubQ and IM injections. (blood levels the same)

Summary: easier to self administer TRT injections and easier for patients not having to cope with the thought of IM injections. Not suitable for cycles where UGL products and higher dosages are more common.

I personally switch between SubQ and Gluteus Medius IM injections for TRT. If, when, I choose to run a cycle I'll use SubQ sites for my scripted, pharma test and save the IM injection sites for the cycle rotation.

so I can pin 1ml of test into SubQ and its same like IM injection?

That's your takeaway? Go for it, pin 1cc of some test e 400 from one of our UGL's.

Thanks for the reply.
And what about accessories...what size needle and length?

I hit gluteus medius IM with a 27ga x 3/4" and works just fine after heating vial up in a heating pad for a few minutes, I've even used 28's but after pulling a few bent ones out post injection I stopped going smaller than 27. So subq you could get away with a 28 pretty easily, and 28ga x 1/2" are cheap, around $15/100ct on the site a buy my pins at. I don't buy the fixed needle syringes, but the ones with detachable heads so I can draw with a 23 then swap out the head.

I draw with a 23 as well some people use 18g that seems to be a little to big for my liking cause that leave a way bigger hole for contamination

herpjunkie111's picture

Yeah the absolute biggest I'll draw with nowadays is 21ga, and only bc I have 1,000 I got free, I prefer 23 since it draws plenty fast enough.

Greg's picture

Comes down to personal preference doesn't it. Because I also do IM and don't want to deal with a variety of needle sizes I just use a 25g 1" needle. SubQ injection at a slight angle and don't insert all of it.

Swolabetic's picture

Wouldn't a 1" needle work fine for a IM shot? Glute, Ventro glute, shoulder, or quad? If you're lean, 1" SHOULD be intra MUSCULAR rite? And like you said, go in at an angle for subq?

herpjunkie111's picture

I've read alot about it, my conclusion was to stick with IM. The pain from a shot occurs when the pin passes through the skin/fat layer, once it hits muscle you can't feel it anymore. So why do that? Not to mention a much slower absorption rate, lower absorption overall, and cellulitis/faciatitis or whatever. I'm not going to try it, I see no upside.
