Question about trt and HL

ad

So I just turned 40 and I just started trt (200 mg a week) for about a month now. So far I think it’s increased my sexual drive a little and maybe a little more energy.

My only real concern is about what affects it will have on my hair. I’m 40 and still have a pretty decent full set of hair, I know test increases dht which can accelerate hair loss if your prone to it.

If i take finasteride along with test, would it be beneficial? Or let’s say I decided to fully come off trt in a month would I need to do any post cycle therapy at this point?

Thanks guys,

Not by a dr. I was told that 200 mg once a week when your 40 is basically to only get you within normal range and want abusing it.

So if my test levels were at around 300 before starting and I do 200 mg once a week 1cc where would that take my levels?

Rusty is saying the range for normal test levels are 300-1100ng/dl. 200mg/week will most likely put your test levels much higher. No one can answer where your levels will be at that dosage, exactly but likely they’ll be much higher than what’s natural. Your natural levels do not add to whatever exogenous hormones you take because your natural production will stop once you start injecting testosterone. If you were seeing a doctor or an endo, they would use blood work to determine what you should be at. For myself, my prescription is 100mg/week which keeps me in the 500s but you May respond differently. This isn’t an endorsement of you being on TRT, just letting you know.

Yeah I’m not trying to be on a cycle just want to be in the normal range. I’m debating on just quitting all together. If I did, I’ve been on it for a month, would I need to do anything post cycle?

If you’re going to quit, pct would be helpful. Click on Rusty’s name and look through his forum posts. He has some good ones on what your PCT should look like.

I’ve looked through some of your posts but did t really see what I was looking for.

Sorry to be a annoying or a bother but in short can you recommend a PCT for me considering I e only been on 200mg once a week for a month? Can I avoid clomid?

I’m new to this but what is cruising on trt? It’s not dr prescribed. But I’m only on 200 mg once a week, not trying to abuse it, just trying to get into normal range.

If you're cruising, then yes, you'll lose your hair.

If you're on Dr prescribed TRT, you're within normal range, you'll be fine...

If you're cruising in normal range... what's the point? TRT gets old fast and is a literal pain in the ass.

TRT is for life. Is this DR or self prescribed? If you are able to come off and do a PCT to recover natty test levels you shouldn't be on TRt in the first place.

I did do blood work about 4 years ago when I was about 34 years old and my test levels were about in the low 300s but the doctor said because it was in the afternoon he didn’t read too much into it and wanted it done early in the morning

I'm not trying to come off like a dick. This is something you probably should have done research beforehand. A blood test 4 years ago isn't good enough to justify being on "TRT" today. There are a lot of factors that come into play. Because you could be normal as fuck as far as levels go . The dumbest shit you can think of can bring your test levels to a low range. Eating a shitty meal and getting no sleep can throw off numbers. I would recommend coming off. If you're serious about getting on test. Talk to your doctor. Get bloodwork done. Maybe check your lifestyle, are you over weight. are you active, etcetera?

Would I need to do a pct at this point if I were to come off? It’s only been a month? You’re right I should’ve done more research beforehand

A month on will have you shut down. May be able to get away with a mini-pct, say like two weeks of clomid/nolva but the safer bet would be to go the full 4 week duration. Wait at least 3 weeks after PCT and then get bloodwork done to see where your natty test and FSH/LH levels are at. If you test to soon after PCT the drugs will artificially influence your test results so you need to give them plenty of time to clear since they have a fairly long half-life.
