Quad Atrophy, VMO rehab --- Anyone?

ad

had surgery 16 months ago and my left quad is basically gone.

Has anyone ever had knee/ACL surgery and had to rebuild their quad/VMO?

Looking for any help, tips, protocols used from experience.

Thanks,
Ccc

Yes, I've had 3 ACLs over the course of 20 years, as well as 4 other surgeries to repair meniscus and articular cartilage. My last ACL repair used my hamstring as the new ligament. I only did rehab for the first two weeks then stopped altogether for personal issues. I only started really focusing on getting my leg strength back about a year ago. It was slow going at first but I matriculated to a fairly rigorous leg workout regimen. That is, until my arthritis really flared up. But nevertheless, it was slow going at first but gradually my quad and hamstring regained full size and strength. Unless there is something else you're struggling with, it can be done. Just give it some time. If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask. Cheers and good luck.

Just saw this. sorry for not coming back sooner.

Did you have specific exercises and routines to target the quad/vmo?

What was your regiment? 2-3x a week? how long

Thanks,
