+ 4 Clomid-the absolute best solution for TRT for me.
-Some of this was copy and pasted from another post on another thread-
I'm 40 years old and shortly before 40 I tested at 306, I got more lab results in and my T had fallen to 269, that after spending $1300 on a mattress, and I really bagan researching the hell out of Clomid.
I've got two little girls so there was no way in the world I would do the Androgel, I told the doc that there was no way I would do that... and I heard it really wasn't all that effective. I told him I would do the test shots as a last resort. In researching Clomid, there have been numerous studies done that have proven it to be a viable alternative to test shots. Great results have been reported, with no sides, on 25mg a day and 25 EOD so I pushed for it. He sent me to an endocrinologist because he had never prescribed Clomid. I went to the endo armed with tons of info, stated my case, and he wrote the script. My insurance didn't/doesn't want to cover it, he's writing a letter now trying to convince them otherwise. Either way, I purchased a month's worth of 25mg (15 50 mg tabs) and started on Tuesday early evening.
On Tuesday I was worried it wouldn't let me sleep having taken it so late... so maybe I was apprehensive and it kept me from falling asleep as fast as I'd like. Other than that I felt a little bit of tingling in my testicles. I slept normally, and on a whim I decided to sleep without my dreaded night boot for my Achilles heel spur even though I had worked out legs hard that day.
I woke up on Wednesday without my Achilles hurting... not bad for after a leg day and no night boot. It got better. I put my feet on the floor and I was moving within two steps. Usually I walk around like a zombie for a few minutes. Then I went to go downstairs. Usually I hand rail zombie it all the way down in the morning. I just went down the steps like I had been up for hours. Was this the Clomid/higher test working, or was it placebo? I didn't/don't know. Wednesday during work went by without any crashing or feeling tired. I got home, went to the gym, worked out my back the hardest I had done in 6 months. The pain in my right shoulder and forearm wasn't there... that much... not enough to keep me from doing 5 plates for 10 reps on each side of the high rows. I had done 4 and a quarter the week before for about 5 reps on each side then finished with 3 more on the left. The whole workout was supercharged. The week before I struggled to do pullups, this day I was getting 5 pullups with 55 lb dumbbell between my feet. Placebo effect? Maybe... but I know the pain just wasn't that bad like it had been.
Thursday my energy was still good. My chest workout was actually a little worse than the week before as far as rep numbers. The week before I was consistently getting 6 reps of 110's on incline, yesterday I go 5 5x and 6 once. But I was able to workout to the muscle was done... something I hadn't been able to do... because of my left shoulder and because I would get physically exhausted. I felt good Thursday night and even had a little trouble sleeping because of all the energy I had.
Fast forward to 5 weeks later and I was on it for 5 weeks, aches and pains mostly went away, strength went back through the roof, I've got energy, feel better than I have since 25....but it's the numbers you've been waiting for...
Before Clomid 25mg a day test level was 269.
After starting Clomid 25mg a day test level was 798. It might have been slightly higher but I fasted for the 2nd test and didn't take my pill that morning before testing. I'm thinking if I had taken my pill that morning my test would be in the low to mid 800's.
As far as sex or sexual performance, even at low levels of T I had a ridiculously high sex drive, Clomid doesn't seem to have drastically done much to change that. I have noticed that once I finish it feels, a little better as I am producing and ejaculating more semen. instead of roughly 3 smaller loads of ejaculation, now there are 5 or so larger loads.
As for sides, because Clomid converts estrogen to T, there has been no gyno whatsoever, no tenderness, etc. Also, the headaches and blurred vision, floaters, etc usually associated with Clomid have never happened, possibly due to the smaller doses.

What do you think about Clomid for people who do NOT have secondary hypogonadism? And the numbers you posted sound like they are the total testosterone levels. How about free testosterone? Did it make a difference there? If I'm not mistaken it's the free testosterone that produces all the effects from TRT.
I was considering injections until I read about Clomid and very interested b/c everything about it sounds so good - the best thing being that it does not shut down your body's natural production. But my total test. levels are normal (I cant remember the exact number). My free test. is a bit low (but still within normal range). So Clomid probably wont be good for someone like me?
ok, I just found out my total serum test. is 590 and free test. is 9.7.
Hi Brasho,
Great post thank you for sharing. I've also had simliar experiences with Low-T and Clomiphene. Im currently taking 50 mg per day.....do you think it possible my doc may prescribe 75mg to get my T-levels even higher and do you know what a "high" dose would even be? Currently my T-levels are are 500+
I came into my doc armed with info posted by Dr. Shira Miller, Dr. Jeffrey Dach, and long term studies:

I am taking EOD 250 mg of sustonon 250 with 100 mg of NPP , I have Clomid on hand for after cycle , I'm confused should I take this with what I'm doing now ?
I think that Clomid would only possibly work for someone with secondary hypogonadism. Clomid in this case would be used to try to stimulate the hypothalamus/pituitary to increase LH/FSH output to get the testicles producing T again. Individuals with primary hypogonadism would have normal or even elevated levels of LH/FSH so there would be no need to stimulate an increase in these hormones with clomid.
I was diagnosed with secondary hypogonadism and thought about trying clomid but I just went with testosterone replacement.
As my endo said, it was either a problem with my brain or my testicles...apparently it was my brain, and now Clomid is telling my boys to do their job like never before.
Obviously, due to precisely what you said, Clomid is not for everyone...but at the very least, it's worth a shot, as opposed to having to stick yourself with a needle twice a week for the rest of your life, saying goodbye to your boys forever, and many of the other longterm side effects associated with testosterone replacement/supplementation. Besides that, I see many reports of the shots only getting people in the 450 range...I'll take 875 over 450 any day.
Hello, new here. I have all the signs as most on here with low t. my labs came back and I am at 214.
age-48 5'8" 155 lbs. I have been doing a lot of research on here and there is a lot to learn. Thanks again to everyone willing to help out. I have an appointment tomorrow with an endo doc. I am interested in trying the clomid treatment. I am not really wanting to try the gels from what I have read on here and other places they just don't seem work very well. My goals from this is to have more energy and stable mood and at least some kind of sex drive, which is almost non existent now. Any advice before my appointment that I need to know about? thanks again.

My doc wanted to go with test injection. I had my first one feb 6th. He wants to go with 200mg every two weeks and do labs. He wants my test level up to a minimum of 600 preferably 800. That sounds fairly high to me. If 200mg every other week doesn't work he wants to go with 200 every week and check again. He has not mentioned anything about anti estrogens. With the above doses should I be concerned about sides? I have never used aas before ,although I keep researching on eroids this is all new to me. As far as goals I am interested in minimizing some of the problems I mentioned above. Thanks for any advice.
There are tons of possible sides, it doesn't mean you will have any/all of them. I've seen reports of gyno, irritableness and mood instability, infertlity, and numerous others. If I were you, and I'm not you nor am I doc, I would continue the treatments but order a cheap batch (2 months worth of 25mg a day) of clomid from one of the top ranked sites on here and start it on your own, inform the doc, and then discontinue test treatments temporarily. If clomid doesn't work, go with test treatments, if it does, you don't have to go back every two weeks, you don't have the risk of test sides, and you administer to yourself orally once daily. Your doc probably didn't want tp prescribe because he's never done it before. Also, like most medical professionals, he wants to keep you in and out of his office to keep making money for himself.
He told me that he would instruct me on how to self administer but it would be after a couple of more visits to his office. my next appointment is on the 20th. I will talk to him about my concerns again and go from there. thanks again for the help.
Thanks for the info. Due to weather my appointment was changed to the 29th. I will definitely bring this up to the doc.
If you want to try Clomid, the best thing you can is to come in armed with info. Most docs have no idea of Clomid as TRT.

Update---Been on Clomid for 6 months now, have made significant regains in lean mass, dropped fat, most old injuries are completely healed, haven't had a new injury since starting (had 4 bad ones in previous six months), and perhaps most importantly, my test level was at 875 the other day, also ZERO sides. I feel great and couldn't recommend it higher.
I've never done a cycle, or received TRT injections or cream or whatever, but I know sides are not uncommon, shrunken testicles, mood swings, acne, breast issues, and from what I've read, the test levels don't usually go much higher than 450. My test is nearly double that and have no issues whatsoever. If you're considering TRT, I think trying clomid, 25mg a day, is a great choice to try before doing anything else.
Very interesting!
Thanks for sharing +1
hey brasho Im 42 and been suffering with all the same shit. just this year. been having tendinitis for 6 months now wont go away. tearing muscles left and right. feels like they never quite heal. how long is your cycle of clomid or do you stay on it. Im gonna start as soon as I fisish typing. because im tire of this old age shit. 25mg/day for how long?
The studies I've seen have patients on it indefinitely. So far, the drug has maintained effectiveness during the entire length of its study, three years.
I just had another friend start on Clomid, 25mg every day, and he reports similar results. Minor aches and pains are gone and major aches have been lessened.
Now here's a a Clomid dilemma. Insurance won't cover it, yet. Been denied twice. It costs $50 a month for 15 50mg tablets so I ordered online 100 100mg tablets. When they arrived they looked like Clomid, the package said it was Clomid, but the tablets were noticeably smaller than the 50mg tablets. if my 50mg tablets are indeed 50mg, I would say these tablets look more like 30mg. Does anybody know if perhaps the prescription could be more condensed or has this company tried to scam me?
tab size means nothing.
Mrfixitthats what she said.... LOL
QtripsHey Brasho, just wait for Androxal. It's Clomid on steroids!
The research I've seen shows clomid to be very effective three years after commencing.
My diet is spot on. Nearly 1.5X protein/bodyweight on training days. Eat every 2.5-3 hours, no soy, only lean meat and dairy, no more than 35g of protein per meal.
Combine my diet and all the extra stuff, new mattress, ZMA, fenugreek, and saw palmetto and astaxanthin and the only reason for my low T was me. I've never done a cycle to mess up my natural test. Clomid fixed it. Because it's not test injections, my balls are in full bloom, I'm not infertile, and I don't have to be on it for life.
Obviously there are good choices for TRT. Clomid is one of them and for those that don't want the hassle of injections, mood swings, shrunken testicles, and infertility associated with test shots, it might be the best choice.
Besides that, my test levels went from 269 to over 800 on a measly 25mg a day and all research I've come across suggests longterm effectiveness.
AnonBro u want higher Testosterone u need to have a good diet include mono and polyunsaturated fats and 1 whole egg a day for cholesterol and that alll equals fuel for ur body to make testosterone. Mono and poly unsat fats have alpha linoleic acid and linoleic acid which help produce testosterone along with cholesterol. Doing this eating veggies and fruits and 3servings of lean protien along with 50mg of clomid and .25mg of arimidex E2D to control estrodoil and ur Testosterone levels should hit the roof
Clomid alone can only do so much.
And dont take clomid to long u will desenitize ur endocrine system.
AnoneI have very good luck with clomid while on either blast or cruise . And I take it for the improvement to libido. The stuff works and Ive been saying that for a whle now
Oh... and background? Tore brachioradialus muscle in left forearm in December, started wearing a night boot for a bone spur behind left Achilles in January, dislocated right shoulder long snapping in February, dislocated left shoulder opening jar of peanut butter in April, have had tendonitis in right brachioradialus for two years. Started Clomid treatment on June 11.
Now, no issues with left brachioradiulus, right shoulder is completely healed, left shoulder is almost healed, still having some discomfort when doing flat bench, no longer wearing night boot for heel spur and the pain is mostly gone, tendonitiis in right brachioradialus is completely gone.
