Calcium Channel Blocker & Low T Issues

ad

Brand new to form. Thought I might post some of my saga so it might help someone else, and if it weren’t personal some of it would be just plain funny.

I understand now that my (T) problems began with Ca (Calcium) channel blocker blood pressure meds. Specifically Nifediac aka nifedipine, or Adalat. Been on them for 8-10 yrs. Began to lack libido about 5 yrs ago. I now know that they can mess with T levels.

Started taking over the counter crap like horny goat weed, yambi and god only knows what else. Moved on to the blue pill, which worked good for wood but not libido. Libido declined very very slowly over the 5 yrs. Started paying attention to TRT adds over the past 2 yrs.

Other significant frustrations that I now know to be associated with it; Thin skin; hands crack open all winter (September – March). For a long time just thought they were dry. Had to be very careful about washing with soap or leaving trace amounts of soap on hands. Doctor was glad to prescribe stuff that did not work. Got to the point that I have purchased more than a few Band-Aid (100 pcs) boxes online. Also experimented toughly with lotions and making my own from scratch. You really can’t live well with hands cracking open down to the meat, too many nerve endings.

At the same time developed thin skin on my nose, if I washed to often with a hand towel it would bleed for an hour or two. This progressively got worse was diagnosed as Rosacea. For a while the cream (metro) they provide did some good. But only for a while. Also associated with it was what I would describe as watery acne, and of course a red nose.

Other symptoms most here would recognize as low T; lack of drive, get up and go, backbone, poor decision making, got over weight when I was not before and couldn’t seem do much about it. Basically found myself part of the walking dead with bloody hands, and a pussy/bloody nose.

Researched all this got serious about taking DHEA (25 mg twice daily). Took it before but at low levels and didn’t see any benefit. It fixed my thin skin (2 weeks)! Nose and hands. Immediately started taking HCG drops (non homeopathic). They worked just good enough that I knew with absolute certainty that if I got the hormones corrected EVERYTHING would be good. Researched the Nifediac and tucked way back in the fine print was a comment that it could adversely affect T levels. Ya think?

Could be that its age or when they test these drugs do they go past 3 yrs? My symptoms only began after 3 or more and ever so gradually got worse. At this point I don’t even care but have to think I can’t be the only poor bastard taking stuff this and living this.

Got with my doctor and told him with DHEA I can grow skin cells and I wanted T tested because at this point I REALLY want my dick back. Stopped taking HCG drops for 2 weeks, T came in at 260. Now who in the @#$$%^&*! ‘thinks’ 240 and up is normal??????? That’s another topic.

Doc has me on Depo T 1 shot every 21 days. Words cannot POSSIBLY do justice what a difference, the pussy shot makes at least for 2-3 days. My body is sated, hunger is down I could easily go back to working out, for a couple days I had a libido. Sex is way more enjoyable and feel like it’s going to get better yet. Only 4 days in at this point. I am going to try and be patient, but am getting my own gear also. Nuff said.

Many good thoughtful comments here; most sincere thanks for them.

Would say that my issue is not a lack of minerals. I frequently take Ca/Mg/Zn and in the winter also D.

It’s been 10-11 months since starting T. The difference is still startling, now have basically normal skin. Can wash my hands any time I please or need to, and I am not even remotely concerned they will crack. I can feel how much thicker and tougher the skin is particularly on fingers and palms. Furthermore have noticed that I now keep a tan a normal period of time! Before I would tan quickly but loose it almost as fast.

Have settled on boldenone undecylenate 400 mg with 300 mg cypionate every 2wks and 250 iu HCG every 2 days. I am extremely pleased with the results and find this form/web cite very helpful.

Very interesting. I never knew about the cracked open hands, I just thought it was from winter time. Had almost every morning nose bleeds and a runny nose, before starting Test treatments (on my own). One shot evey 21 days will end up being too low.

Good Luck.
