Anyone ever come off of TRT....care to share?

ad

Just curious about folks that have been on TRT and tried to come off. I realize there are some of you that truly do suffer from Low T...so those probably will never come off. But also there are those out there that weren't supper low but wanted more.

Anyone care to share their experiences? How long were you on TRT? Do anything special when you came off? And most importantly, how did go?

Thanks in advance
AB

I don't know how you could come off of TRT if you're using injections of testosterone. Injecting TRT almost completely diminishes the ability of the body to make its own testosterone. It also will pretty much make you infertile. This is why when the doc wanted to put me on Androgel, I refused and I continued researching and had him prescribe me Clomid. 25 mg a day brought me from 269 to an official number of 798, though I am sure because I fasted and didn't take a pill that day that I'm over 800. If I ever had to come off of Clomid, the worst case scenario has me going back to 269, though there is belief out there that the Clomid is training my brain/body to produce at a higher rate.

Yeah, no interest in going off, and this thread confirms it.
I knew that trt would stop natural production,
and that "the crash" would be hard.
That's one of the reasons I looked for an online source.
Just in case the insurance bites the dust.

I see NO reason to stop.
My 2 cents ;-)

I can attest to one thing, before TRT my cholesterol was continuing to creep up. It was slow but gradual. I'm a pretty active guy, fair diet, extremely fit compared to average Joe so it really bummed me out not to mention it was dangerous. Heart related illness is typically the number one killer. I went on a statin on Dr recommendations which brought it down 10–15 points.

Once on TRT, with no statin in probably 3 years, I'm down like 40 points consistently! Coming in around 150–160. Very happy. Still struggling with my good cholesterol, always low.

See it's amazing how trt improves people's lives.. I know before trt I had anxiety and I'm NOT the kind of guy to panic ( just saying) I tried all sorts of meds;most would zombify me. And I'm also not that kind of guy, until I started trt, BAM, anxiety gone where it went I don't know, but what I do know is I feel great and I love it!
I kind of verde off topic sorry Betheman...

No, that's cool to hear. I've had anxiety issues my whole life.

My struggle is keeping it at TRT vs. a cycle. Honestly, I have been doing TRT for about 3 years and I still haven't been able to dial it in to be around 6–700 consistently... Usually around 900.:-P

Mostly my ego. Hard to only do 1/2 cc a week. But I really think thats all I need. Seems like I always end up doing a cc.

I know what you mean, I could also do half/cc but, I keep up my 200mg a week..I don't know... if it ain't broke don't fix it I guess..I just wish my doc would hook me up with hcg not that the wife minds my testes being like small grapes lol I just kind of miss them, but I did try some from a src here stuff worked great.. I'm 4 weeks into my cycle now so maybe I'll grab some to blow the boys back up again. I'm going off topic again.. Take it easy bud..

I can only say that Im 29 and been on trt for a little over 6 months I beleve, I went to see a Endo and he wants me to cold turkey my Trt which is @200mg a week per My primary, for a year then he said will check labs and see whats up! Needless to sat that was the last time I went to him or any endo for that mater....

It's sad when you have to school your specialist on the protocol for trt cessation. The bodybuilding community is ahead of the curve on this one.

Dray-m28's picture

Yes sir I was truly shocked by the knowledge of these people! And the willingness to put us through he'll... Stay healthy and lift heavy my friend!

So far I'm hearing there's no benefit, or at least be ready to fill like crap.

Might be bro science, just wondering if it would be good to go clean for a few months.

I'm on it for life, one of the drawbacks to using aas at a young age with zero knowledge of pct and AI. At 36 I lost a well paying career that I loved and with it my health insurance. I came off it totally for a year, turned into an emotional disaster, explosive mood swings, fatigue, and so on. I decided to wake up and start TRT on my own and dose it based on how I feel. My Uro had told me that only I know how I feel. Went to 200mlof cyp ev 7 days and brought my levels back to 6-700. Oh yea, try mentioning an AI or PCT to a Urologist...lmao, I swear they have no idea what theyre talking about

Iv been on trt for just over 2 years. I'm almost 41 now and after the first year I knew I felt better had more sex drive etc. but I was curious about the same thing. So, I went off for about 5 months. I felt like absolute shit!!!! I felt like I needed a nap every single day. No and I mean zero desire for sex. And this is was odd for me. I typically want it at least 3-5 times a week. So, I know I'm back on now and will remain that way.

I have been on trt for 6 years...huge improvement in quality of life. About a year ago, i went to see a urologist (was having some signs of bph) and he did some tests, then had me stop trt for 2 1/2 months and reran the tests.,,no difference in the numbers, but I FELT LIKE SHIT. What amazes me now, looking back is that there was no form of pct to kickstar whatever natural production might have been there. Just cold turkey. I would question this if i ever see him again. And i intend to stay on trt. That little episode was a reminder of why i went this route.

Awesome, thanks for sharing.

Guess you didn't get your test levels checked? Dr was probably focused on bp, which is OK but should have checked test too.

I'm thinking of trying this fall. Just to see how my body reacts. I have no research to support this but just like the idea of giving my system a rest from external test. Maybe a I'll thought out idea so was curious if anyone has tried.

I'm going to try and come off after being on for a year at the end of my current cycle. Last time I came off my levels reached 500 for a few weeks post PCT but than started to drop off again..

betheman's picture

Probably silly, just wanted to see if I could go completely clean for 3-4 months.

I myself am on it for life.

I'm curious to see the answer to this? I'm just started TRT about a few months ago.
