One of my friends mother is registered with the republican party, she's also worked as a volunteer for the republican party.
She makes about 30-40k a year, she was audited earlier this year. Stand by, it gets better. Her son who just got out of the Military as an E5 making between the range of jack and shit is also being audited. He's not registered with any party. There's no reason for him to be audited, he doesn't own a home, has 2 car payments that he barely can make and goes to school full time as well as works as a trainer part time.
Can anyone explain to me why he would be audited? I don't really need anyone to tell me why, i think we all know exactly why.

If I go through airport security and get scrutinized is that just random screening or profiling because my name sounds funny ? Actually I would hope both, I would hope they are scrutinizing those who have fit the description of a potential threat and randomly those who dont.

In any case to prove your case Badger you would need to be able to show some kind of proportional difference with random audits leaning towards one party. The evidence here seems to be directed at a specific group being targeted whos whole premise is not to pay taxes in the first place.
If someone, or several someones, who paid him a fee as a trainer was writing it off; he might get audited. As well as, after leaving the military, if suddenly he stopped filing, they'd be looking into why.
AnonIIRC I think he's paid hourly, he works for lifestyle or 24hour or something like that. He doesn't get commission and he hasn't filed since he's been out since he's only been out less than a year.

well it may be the corruption. but in all fairness shes a volunteer for a major political party. Campaign fianancing is under the scope. And well your friend works as a personal trainer, and could claim the bare minimum and be charging top dollar.
Waiters were never really audited, and usually claimed a small percentage of their tips but now a days your tips are closely watched and if you claim less than 15 percent regulary its a red flag.

Nice straw man you got going there. America's budget can practically be cut into three major sections. Military, where we spend the most/more than the next 26 countries combined, 25 of which are allies (25%). Medicaid, where we get raped by doctors/prescription manufacturers(25%). We have nearly the most expensive healthcare in the world and the quality is no where near the level at which we spend in comparison. Lastly, social security, which has been relatively solvent but the fund has been ravished by different presidents in need of cash(25%). That last one may be hard to believe, you'll have to do your own research. Bud, blaming America's problems on the poor is just a very sad and distorted perspective. Especially considering that as a nation we spend 3% of the budget on education and 12% of the budget goes to welfare.
