+ 1 When to call it quits?

ad

I find myself wondering what my end game is lately, and how balancing my AAS user lifestyle is becoming less and less a priority. My professional work related goals have become more ambitious, and my family time is becoming increasingly sparse seemingly every month. I wonder what others experiences are about stepping back to reevaluate for the long term.

At this point I'm thinking of maintaining my results with a minimalist approach to AAS, but in the end I'm not entirely sure just looking for some advice from the older guys who might have hit this crossroad and what has been your experience.

For me injuries are mounting up and with age aggressive goals are not realistic. Its been more lately staving off inevitable deterioration but its getting so painful to do many movements and a hassle to always be working around damaged areas ive been wondering lately if its time to quit and do yoga or something.

I'll call it quits as soon as I hear the first handful of dirt fall upon my coffins lid.

Ha that's the other side of the coin I guess, but I do envy that motivation to achieve your goals no matter what.

There comes a time when you have to be honest with yourself. I don't personally strive for immediate results in the gym, I see it as a marathon and I figure not to be in my best shape until I'm 45 Im 40 now. I have kids, married for 20 years but I also gym with my wife we do everything together, I have all that I need in my family. Ill never stop seeking a better me however I noticed after my very first cycle that I can never think that I will be a pro in this arena as its just not for me as I don't need to be validated by anyone nor am I interested in competing or anything. Im just doing this for the ultimate prize for me which is I feel great and Im eager to continue down this road to progression. Stay focused and motivated in all aspects of your life, you are the deciding factor regarding how everything turns out

I think that's a good outlook to have. Appreciate the perspective, and 20 years married is encouraging that keeping it balance in all areas of life is possible.

I'm glad I was thinking along the lines of the same thing. Sounds like your doing great, and I like that rule, family first.

I wouldn't consider myself an old person I'm 32. But lately I hAve been more focused on work and family. I used to be into cycling like a crack addict but lately I don't see the need to become a mass monster. I want to live a long life and get married and be there for my loved ones. I am on trt so I'm always on test but going crazy with the cycles is just not my main priority anymore. I have one big cycle I'm planning soon to put on some good weight. But that will probably be it. Unless you want to be a pro bofybuilder then theres much more important things in life.+1

I wouldn't say your old either buddy. We're close to the same age, and sounds like we have a pretty similar outlook. Getting married down the road feels more likely every day, and I never pictured myself considering settling down. But, the quality of women I've been dating has drastically improved after college (smarter, more confident, etc).Ha just strange how much my outlook has shifted in the last few years not necessarily better just different how plans change.

In my opinion I wouldn't call it an end game but your priorities are changing which happens man and usually happens for the better. Its best to cherish family time because your never guaranteed tomorrow , its best to step back and reevaluate things and figure out what needs more attention and what doesn't, what is truly a priority and what comes second , third and so on. I am not an older guy but I have gone through some things that most here haven't and one day I had to step back and think about my priorities and life style and how they fit into a good future for my sons sake , and I'm sure I will take a step back again and reevaluate a few more times as the years pass , because outlooks change and priorities change as the time passes. Its always good to be in tune with yourself and in tune with reality my friend because before you know it you will look back at your life and the last thing you'll want to think is if you made the right choices and spent your time and energy on the right things. I hope you figure things out and good luck my friend.

Yea trying to stay grounded and down to earth is a challenge. Time slips faster everyday it seems. Like you, I don't want to look back and wonder what if I would've used my time more wisely.

Sounds like your son has a good father, and thanks for the support brother.
