That awkward moment when exorcist crap start happen around midnight
First off, I do not scare easy and no I am not on any drugs besides doing my first pin for this cycle this past monday.
I believe we've all had the dreams where you can't move your body but you are conscious and yes those can be unnerving.. but this was a little different so I thought I would share since it shot my BP up so high I don't think I will be falling back asleep for at least another hour and I need something to occupy my time LOL
I am fast asleep when I wake up to my girl friend mumbling in her sleep. I think to myself "Ohhh lets move closer and listen so I can tease her tomorrow!" At this point in time my back is turned to her as I listen and I don't feel any need to turn over since I am only listening. I begin to notice it's not just mumbling but it turns out she is speaking in tongues.. I lay there stunned wondering if I made the wrong choice and my girl friend is bat shit crazy.. But no that would be to convenient.
Soon her whispers are by my ear and she has moved closer.. The dialogue goes on for what I would imagine is a few sentences then stops.. I decide I should turn over but realize I have no control over my body however I can open my eyes and control my breathing. She starts speaking in tongues again for another paragraph or what ever the hell. Then I see my door is open and there is now a figure standing in the doorway. I immediately think to myself "OH SHITFUCKDAMN SOMEONE HAS BROKEN IN MOOOOOOVE DAMNIT MOOOOOVE!!" The best I could do is twitch..
Seeing no other options I start breathing heavily and as loudly as possible hoping it will wake up my girl friend. Well it works and she wakes up.. When she asks if I'm okay the voice speaking in tongues isn't finished whispering and that is when I realize it was not her. By this point the figure has made its way to my bed side staring down at me. It looks like a child or small man but I cannot turn my neck to see its face.
By this point I would say I am purposely hyperventilating because it is about the ONLY thing I am in control of so why the hell not.. As I breath louder and louder my girlfriend starts to sound panicked and keeps patting my back asking what is wrong. When the figure starts to lean down I finally pick up enough energy to move and kick wildly at it screaming out "What the fuck!!" like a girl who had a mouse run between her legs (I am not proud of this)
The kick seems to make the figure dissipate and the whispers abruptly end however there is still an odd shadow lingering where it was.. Sometimes the shadow gets dark and sometimes it fades and moves side to side as if there was a candle or some flame creating the shadow. It was like the room was slowly filling back up with light even though it was dark and this sense of hopelessness or impending doom was fading.
By this point my girl is sitting quietly I turn to her and calmly ask "what did you see"?
"Nothing the room got really dark I couldn't see anything"
"But now you can see??"
"yes"
Then she looks me dead in the eyes and says "What was that"
For the record we both never spoke of ghosts or demons and it is not an interest either of us have. So for her to immediately assume it was a "thing" startled me as I was hoping it was a intense dream and expected her to feel the same.
By this point I think to myself for shits and giggles lets look at the clock.. isn't it usually 12 or 1 when paranormal things should happen? Well I turn to see it is 12:01 exactly
I can honestly say I've only had things like this happen 2 other times in my life and they are spaced out in years so this is not a common thing for me.
Just thought I'd share that and either you'll get a laugh from this or maybe you have a similar experience.

WeatherwedI got one for you. A couple years back I lost a decent job and eventually lost my apt. I was forced to move back in with my parents until I got back on my feet again.
One night I was out of the back porch area reading a book. It was around 10pm, dark, rainy, and windy. It's a glass porch so you're outdoors but not affected by the weather. After a few hours of reading I heard a distinct sound from outside. It was the sound of a young child laughing for a split second. With all the weather activity I brushed it off as someones squeaky object moving in the wind.
Well as time passed I heard the sound more and more. It was such a strange sound that eventually I got freaked out, stopped reading, and got up to look out the window. All the sudden the wind stopped, I heard the the sound of a child say " HAHA!", and the door to the porch shook violently. I ran out of the room convinced I had experienced something.
The next morning I came down stairs for breakfast with the rents. Eventually I told my story about the previous night- we all had a good "ghost story" conversation and laugh. After breakfast we all went about our days. I was on my laptop, my dad left for work, and my mom started her stay at home mom cleaning habits.
All the sudden I heard a gasp from the porch. I ran in to see what had happened. My mom was starring at the porch door. There were dozens of little hand prints on the inside of the glass. We havent had a small child in the house in decades.
Yeahhh that's creepy... and the neighbors have no kids?
WeatherwedThere's kids in the neighborhood... but these were like 3-4yr hand prints. My parents are locked door nuts too.
Here's the kicker: A few years later I told this story to a room full of people. One of them happened to be really into paranormal subject matter. She told me that it wasnt a ghost it was a poltergeist. Basically she said that my feelings of insecurity and failure from having to move back in were strong enough to manifest themselves into something that was capable of interacting with our environment. So little kids hand print trying to get out ie move on grow up. BLEW my mind.
That's a interesting way to interpret it.. When ever I tell people about my experiences they always tell me its something evil LOL!! Not very comforting
WeatherwedYeh im fine.. but you're def f-cked. LOL
I had that experience I walked into the gym yesterday around 5:30AM to do some cardio and as I walked into the gym I noticed the lights were very dim and every other light had a flicker as if controlled by some other power. I walk further into the gym and notice shadows of small people or beings and I hear this distinct voice saying "I SEE LITTLE PEOPLE"... It was just me looking around the gym at all of the newbies... But yeah for sure scary man.............
Cross fit hipsters are much more frightening imo.. those little shits take up 3 machines at once
Def some sort of haunting...not necessaily demonic or evil....prob just some
entity stuck in yr home....if you can search death records in yr local vital statistics office you can see who's died there....i have an equally creepy story if you wanna PM me....you should also buy sage and burn sage it clears energy so does painting
yr home i can explain that too
ahh come on share your story we love creepy shit
lol I'll shoot ya a pm.. I love scary stuff tbh.. Just not when I'm asleep =X
Paranormal stuff usually happens at the darkest hour, when entities that can only survive in conditions of low light and low frequencies. This is also a time the mind typically produce the dream inducing tryptamine DMT. Catecholamines are also raised in fear and can cause anything from hallucinations to clairvoyance.
I was under the impression DMT was produced in the brain during death or near death.. I've spoken with several friends who came out of comas and had some insanely trippy dreams.
That is some fucked up shit! You need to call Ghostbusters bro!
Sleep paralysis is some scary shit!! I remember the first time it happened to me 12-13 years ago. I felt like someone was holding me down and I couldn't move at all. Not even a finger or a toe! I tried to yell for help but I couldn't even talk. Freaked me the fuck out!
RustyhookerJust went ghost hunting. And got pictures of ghost faces. Pm me...I'll send ya a couple. If it keeps happening ya might wanna get it reviewed. There is some evil ass things out there.
Haha this doesn't happen very often.. I get sleep paralysis every now and then but that is a cake walk compared to last night.. Last night is one of the nights where you doubt it was just sleep issues. I'll send ya a pm
It's called sleep paralysis my friend. Sleep paralysis is a phenomenon in which people, either when falling asleep or wakening, temporarily experience an inability to move. More formally, it is a transition state between wakefulness and rest characterized by complete muscle atonia (muscle weakness). It can occur at sleep onset or upon awakening, and it is often associated with terrifying visions (e.g. an intruder in the room), to which one is unable to react due to paralysis. It is believed a result of disrupted REM sleep, which is normally characterized by complete muscle atonia that prevents individuals from acting out their dreams. Sleep paralysis has been linked to disorders such as narcolepsy, migraines, anxiety disorders, and obstructive sleep apnea; however, it can also occur in isolation. When linked to another disorder, sleep
paralysis commonly occurs in association with the neuromuscular disorder narcolepsy.

IT IS the exact thing you have experienced
Physiologically, sleep paralysis is closely related to REM atonia, the paralysis that occurs as a natural part of REM (rapid eye movement) sleep. Sleep paralysis occurs either when falling asleep, or when awakening. When it occurs upon falling asleep, the person remains aware while the body shuts down for REM sleep, and it is called hypnagogic or predormital sleep paralysis. When it occurs upon awakening, the person becomes aware before the REM cycle is complete, and it is called hypnopompic or postdormital.[10] The paralysis can last from several seconds to several minutes, with some rare cases being hours, "by which the individual may experience panic symptoms" (described below). As the correlation with REM sleep suggests, the paralysis is not entirely complete; use of EOG traces shows that eye movement is still possible during such episodes; however, the individual experiencing sleep paralysis is unable to speak.[12]
Hypnagogic and hypnopompic hallucinations are symptoms commonly experienced during episodes of sleep paralysis. Some scientists have proposed this condition as an explanation for reports of alien abductions and ghostly encounters.[13] A study by Susan Blackmore and Marcus Cox (the Blackmore-Cox study) of the University of the West of England supports the suggestion that reports of alien abductions are related to sleep paralysis rather than to temporal lobe lability.[14] There are three main types of these hallucinations that can be linked to pathologic neurophysiology.[7] These include the belief that there is an intruder in the room, the incubus, and vestibular motor sensations.[15]
Many people that experience sleep paralysis are struck with a deep sense of terror, because they sense a menacing presence in the room while paralyzed—hereafter referred to as the intruder. This phenomenon is believed to be the result of a hyper vigilant state created in the midbrain.[7] More specifically, the emergency response activates in the brain when individuals wake up paralyzed and feel vulnerable to attack.[15] This helplessness can intensify the effects of the threat response well above the level typical to normal dreams; this could explain why hallucinations during sleep paralysis are so vivid.[15] Normally the threat activated vigilance system is a protective mechanism the body uses to differentiate between dangerous situations and determine whether the fear response is appropriate.[15] This threat vigilance system is evolutionarily biased to interpret ambiguous stimuli as dangerous, because "erring on the side of caution" increases survival chances.[15] This could explain why those who experience sleep paralysis generally believe the presence they sense is evil.[15] The amygdala is heavily involved in the threat activation response mechanism, which is implicated in both intruder and incubus SP hallucinations.[3] The specific pathway the threat-activated vigilance system acts through is not perfectly understood. It is believed that either the thalamus receives sensory information and sends it on the amygdala, which regulates emotional experience—or that the amygdaloid complex, anterior cingulate, and the structures in the pontine tegmentum interact to create the hallucination.[7] It is also highly possible that SP hallucinations could result from a combination of these. The anterior cingulate has an extensive array of cortical connections to other cortical area, which lets it integrate the different sensations and emotions we experience.[7] The amygdaloid complex helps us interpret emotional experience and act appropriately.[16] Most importantly, it helps us direct our attention to the most pertinent stimuli in a potentially dangerous situation and act appropriately.[16] Proper amygdaloid complex function requires input from the thalamus. This creates a thalamoamygdala pathway capable of bypassing intense scrutiny of incoming stimuli, which allows for quick responses in a potentially life-threatening situation.[7][16]
Typically these pathways let us quickly disregard non-threatening situations. In sleep paralysis, however, these pathways become over-excited and move into a state of hypervigilance where the mind perceives every external stimulus as a threat. The individual can create endogenous stimuli that contribute to the perceived threat.[7] A similar process occurs in the incubus hallucination, with slight variations.
The incubus hallucination is associated with the subject's belief that an intruder is attempting to suffocate them, usually by strangulation.[15] It is believed that the incubus hallucination is a combination of the threat vigilance activation system and the muscle paralysis associated with sleep paralysis that removes voluntary control of breathing.[15] Several features of REM breathing patterns exacerbate the feeling of suffocation.[15] These include shallow rapid breathing, hypercapnia, and slight blockage of the airway, a symptom prevalent in sleep apnea patients.[7] Attempts at breathing deeply fail, and give the individual a sense of resistance, which the threat-activated vigilance system interprets as someone sitting on their chest, suffocating them.[7] The sensation of entrapment causes a feedback loop that involves the threat-activated vigilance system: fear of suffocation increases as a result of continued helplessness, which makes the individual struggle to end the SP episode.[15] The intruder and incubus hallucinations highly correlate with one another, and moderately correlate with the third type of hallucination, vestibular-motor hallucination, also known as out-of-body experiences.[15]
The third hallucination type differs from the other two in that it involves the brainstem, cerebellar, and cortical vestibular centers—not the threat activation vigilance system.[3] Under normal conditions, medial and vestibular nuclei, cortical, thalamic, and cerebellar centers coordinate things such as head and eye movement, and orientation in space.[7] In sleep paralysis, these mechanisms—which usually coordinate body movement and provide information on body position—activate and, because there is no actual movement, become confused and induce a floating sensation.[15] The vestibular nuclei in particular has been identified as being closely related to dreaming during the REM stage of sleep.[7] Unlike the other two types of hallucinations, vestibular-motor experiences arise from completely endogenous sources of stimuli.[15]
Had it on tren it was the most terrifying experience i've ever had. To be honest, i'm stil scared that this will ever happen again to me
Lol I know what sleep paralysis is and I have had it before and yes this is pretty much the same thing but the catch is it happened exactly at 12 and there was someone else in the room who is completely against the idea of paranormal things happening and it scared the ever loving shit out of her.. When I normally get this I do have the sense of intruders etc.. Except for one other time where I was out in a cabin in the middle of no where alone. I woke up to what looked like the grudge/ring at the foot of my bed and it began to crawl on me then feed it's hair to me LOL! That's a creeeeepy one.. but this last one actually startled me.. Besides that my first ever experience with explainable events involved myself and others waking up in different rooms out of a sense of fear all at once then looking out of a bedroom doors to see dogs whimpering and barking.. There was nothing there yet 3 people including 3 dogs were scared shitless for no reason.. That might have been the best one as far as scaring the hell out of you goes since we were all conscious
Take a couple of puffs, before u go to bed and you'll sleep like a baby...
Oh I save my j's for only when I can't sleep.. This hasn't happened in years so I'm not worried
AnonCreepy story, gave me chills. I dont know what to tell you except you have to wait and see if it happens again .
Time to do some detective work in to the houses history.
This was intense. This happened to me in my teenage, i was able to see breathe and even move my big toe. It usually happened to me in that one bedroom where i used to sleep alone. I was told by an old lady that it might be somebuddys soul who hasnt leave this world yet. But whatever the fuck it was, it was a bit scary specially because i knew there was somebuddy else in the room as well.
Honestly I had a similar experience happen to me. It was a few years ago. I have been brought up with a christian background my whole life. Well anyways just out of curiosity the thought hit me, why are so many people catholic, or muslim, or jewish, or christian, or buddhist etc?? I started to think to myself that do people who are not christian go to hell for not following christianity?
I really started to question religion altogether. Of course seeing movies and stuff my parents always told me demons were real that is why we must go to church.. be christian etc so then I tried to figure everything out lol what is real and what isn't. My first mistake - doubting Christianity, and other spiritual things like exorcisms or vodoo I was truly confused and did not know what was right or wrong.
Anyways I kind of stopped going to church, and sort of moved away from practicing religion basically just didn't think about it. Well I started having nightmares, and weird stuff was happening. Some nights I would get a weird feeling of course whenever I watched horror movies especially religious based movies my thoughts got the best of me. I was having nightmares and sometimes would wake in middle of night in my bed and immediately feel the whole room go cold, and it was very dark. I felt like something was watching me and I was shivering in my bed completely scared I couldn't get out I was stuck. I wanted to get up and turn the light on but I just lay there shivering feeling this presence watching me. This feeling would continue for 5 or 10 mins nonstop. Very scary. I went back asleep somehow and woke up still scared. Didn't think anything of it that day other than maybe just a bad dream. The next night it happened again, more thinking about demons etc wake up middle of night room goes cold I feel like something is watching me room is dark and I hear something. Like whispers. I can't make out any words just whispering or like the sound of a breeze going through my room. That creeped me out especially because I couldn't move at all just had to wait scared and cold until it passed.
At the time my brother and mom were going to church regularly, my brother had also been baptized that month so he was very into it. Then I decided to tell them what had been happening at night the past couple weeks. They both agreed I should go back to regularly going to church with them. I was so scared and it felt so real, I could not go another night with that happening to me again. I started to read the bible before bed every night and fall asleep reading the bible. The nightmares stopped. I realized how stupid I was and ever since then I pray at night for god to watch over me. Ever since I started getting back into it, praying reading the bible and going to church I have yet to have a nightmare. I do not question my religion anymore, it is very real !
AnonOf all the shit I read before trying to go to bed!! Fucker
LOL!! You're sleeping with the lights on tonight
All I will say is this I am not a religious person, but when I was in Africa I saw some things that to this day I try to convince my self I didn't see.
I'm not religious either and I tend to ignore these things after time passes.. But every once in a while like tonight they happen.. The others involved the sense of impending doom in combo with unrealistic darkness which seems to be common in these experiences with most people.. oh and animals going berserk
Yeah I am someone who went from non religious to a belief in spiritual things. No belief at all in organized religion but simply what my own senses witnessed. I now believe some things are better to not know lol.
Care to share any creepy/scary experiences?
Not really lol but for the sake of this forum. I was in Africa Kenya Immediately after the US Embassy bombings. My team and I were there to track and capture any splintered terrorist that might be remaining behind. So we were with a few Kenyan regulars as our liaisons, and we went to a particular region where we had intelligence that some of the terrorist might be hiding out. So we were on a long hump through this indigenous jungle region when we came upon a tribe of Masai people one of the oldest most ancient tribes on the continent. To make a long story short our liaisons were very intimidated by this tribe as they are held in very high regard. So they were attempting to obtain information from them. The tribesman were performing some kind of a ritual, when shortly after it began this skinny Masai girl broke out of the circle and came running straight at one of my teammates. The Masai men were yelling something in their tribal tongue but we couldn't understand them, yet none of them were coming to get this girl. She then ran right into my Chief Petty Officer and grabbed him. Now this man was at least 230 lbs, now the chief who is well trained held his post and did not see her as a threat. This skinny little girl who did not even looked close to 100lbs grab the Chief and threw him at least seven feet without him touching the ground. She then spun around and looked at us, and all I can say is now mind you it was dark there was a large fire that illuminated the area, so it wasn't completely black this little girl looked like nothing I have ever seen. I mean monstrous looking, to this day when I think on it I tell myself maybe she was deformed, burned, etc. So I started towards her with 2 other members of my team and she ran into the woods growling. Usually we would all joke and bust the Chief's balls for allowing that to happen, but to this day none of us ever said a thing about it. I have no good scientific theory how this could have happen or will I even validate what I saw this girls face and eyes look like. But I know these brave Masai warriors who by the way kill lions with a spear were horrified and would not engage this girl.
And the regulars/liasons had no answer for that? Sounds like puberty LOL! I kid.. but that is very creepy.. The only thing I can think of is if they found a way to force her body to produce extreme amounts of adrenaline
The liaisons said it was the devil, I really didn't care I had a job to do they just wouldn't shut up even though we didn't ask them about it. I thought about adrenaline and it very well could have been. The sounds that she made were hollow and like an echo and here face if I could best describe it looked like a barracuda.
I am always leaning towards the explainable. But I will not dismiss an event just because it has not happen to me, that makes a man a fool.
These kind of stories fascinate me. My father got his Purple Heart in Vietnam but he won't tell me any story about his time there. From what my mom says he's still traumatized from what he went through.
Many combat vets won't discuss what they experienced in great detail if at all. We all react differently to our experiences especially in the way we process them mentally. I have gone through many different levels of dealing with my personal experiences. I have always be fortunate to be able to separate the job of being an operator in way to keep things in perspective. I have known a few great warriors that honestly they never failed in their job but later on became very either hardened or filled with grief and regret. I will tell you also that as a father I do not discuss my work with my children either. It is a world that I would educate them if they asked but otherwise would shield them from it. Despite all that my oldest son still joined up and serves.
My father was in force recon during vietnam.. He was very strong willed considering everything he did and saw.. It kills me knowing how he served the country and was thrown away after vietnam blew over and had to suffer so much.. The VA is a crock of shit.. the military can be nice if you don't get ripped apart and crippled.. If you do then tough shit.. They will promise you money then magically forget about it.. funny how that works
"The VA is a crock of shit.. the military can be nice if you don't get ripped apart and crippled.."
Yes you are right and the only reason they play nice now as oppose to during Vietnam is because of the black mark on America for the way many treated the returning troops. As well as the shift in media coverage
My best friend was recruited into my unit and he was Force Recon.
Well he was 100% disabled and they owed him several decades worth and he recently passed away last year.. I would say maybe they help this generations returning troops more than any others.. Mostly for good press.. But I can assure you when this is all over and some time passes some of those kids won't be receiving any help and it will be on to the next war.. all you can hope for is no one your close to is maimed
You want to get there attention do this. Write your your Congressman or woman and your Senator, inform them that you are going to do an editorial and start your own online blog on how a fallen hero was treated by the country he faithfully served. Be persistent an I thin k you will be surprised at their response. My friends have done this several times for other vets and every time they respond differently then the way the majority are treated.
You know what I think I will give that a try. I have nothing to lose
You let me know brother if you need any help!
gave me chills brah
