Shoulder Surgery?
ad
Can anyone out there tell me WTF does it mean to have a "partial tearing of the anterior supraspinatus" I have the MRI results saying that and a whole host of other things that I cannot interpret but that one seemed the most serious. A little googling showed that it is a torn rotator muscle but what I really wanted to know is how serious of an injury it is and if you've been through it. What might the road to recovery look like?
It'll be 3 weeks before I can see the Dr about the results so I guess I'm on my own till then. I'm not sure if I'm even suppose to see the results but I kinda hit it off with the MRI tech and she agreed to fax me a copy once they were available.

Its gonna be a long recovery or at least it will seem that way..Good luck bro and stay positive!
AnonGet the surgery, life will get better. You will have to change your workouts a little, but its not the end of the world. I cant bench heavy or do any military presses after my shoulder surgery, you learn to work around it.
naguib123i have a partial tear in the tricep. im out for about two month now, it feels better but im not 100%. the first stage for me was inflammation, bruising, and unable to grip anything. also i would hear pop sounds from my elbow. are these close to what u have. sometimes rest is the best thing
angusSorry, I guess I wasn't very clear, it's a shoulder injury. It's been funky for a long while with soreness and isolated pain but it gave way last week in the gym. Made a sickening crunching/popping sound followed by a lot of pain and I could tell that something had "shifted" in the joint. Thanks for the info though.
It's was a long road to recovery for me. I went to a doctor and the asshole just gave me a prescription for alieve and told me to rest it. I took 6 months off and started back slow in the gym. After a couple months I started running some Test and Deca to deal with the pain. It's been 3 years now and I'm finally as strong as a used to be. When I had went to the doctor he never ordered an MRI or anything, so maybe you'll have a better outcome than what I went through. I still have a nagging pain in that shoulder but my tolerance for pain has definitely gone up to deal with it. Ice it for the swelling and use heat on it to deal with pain. A good antiinflammatory will help too. Good luck bro.
